I heard the alert on my phone and suddenly I was dismantling a fired sniper rifle in a city I’ve never even been to before.

      Caught me by surprise.

It was nice to get an over-the-air update to the microchips they put in my Covid vaccine at least!

I haven’t gotten any alerts yet.

Considering what a failed alert system resulted in here recently, I am a bit concerned.

edit: oh, hey, there it is, 9 hrs later

Yeah, that missile one was crazy. And I woke up and read the message about 10mins after it was expected to hit. Had no idea if I should be running somewhere or just kissing my own ass goodbye.

I’m also wondering if we’re not included in this test since we’re disconnected far from the mainland and have our own system. Though tbf, the mobile phone alerts here worked during the fires, except for the area where the cell towers and power lines were out and were needed the most. So that alert problem was a different problem. The tsunami sirens not going off because someone thought everyone would run uphill into the fires was just plain human incompetence. They’re solar powered and with batteries, and satellite connected, so could have been used any time.
