Billy Pilgrim has come unstuck in time.
He has seen his birth and death many times, he says, and pays random visits to all the events in between.
Yeah, scrolling through the RSS feed to find horrible things I didn’t know even happened.
The obvious difference being my/others mastodon posts aren’t showing up on wordpress and being monetized. One way federation to masto doesn’t matter bc it isn’t data farming / putting ads on masto content.
Doesn’t help that being a cop unironically requires less training then the vast majority of other jobs. You would think giving someone a gun to point at people, who they’re largely supposed to “protect” would require at least a few years of training.
Yeah I’ve seen almost no movement against Tumblr while everyone got very riled up about Meta federation ie fedipact, probably a blindspot bc users have positive associations with tumblr, but it’s still an ad/data company all the same.
I’ve never been without ad block, but I’m not surprised they put a lot of ads bc I doubt they would be making any money enough to hire someone without having like 15 banner ads. Satire is not exactly a monied industry.
That’s pretty unlikely unless he’s doing a big pivot in his branding, he quite literally has said the US should team up with Russia to fight/oppose China.
Carlson’s dissenting line on Ukraine policy has to be understood in light of his obsession with fighting China. As he outlined back in 2019, his dim view of Washington’s Russia strategy came from the fact that he viewed China, not Russia, as “our main enemy,” and that “the United States ought to be in a relationship with Russia aligned against China to the extent that we can.”
He reiterated this point three years later: because “China is the preeminent threat to the United States,” and because it’s impossible “to engage meaningfully simultaneously in Europe and in Asia,” the US focus on Ukraine only “detracts from our attention to China,” while at the same time pushing Moscow “into an alliance of convenience of necessity with the Chinese government.”
No offense, but this is a horrible map and it is just as bad as the first time it was posted today: US + Canada (why are they grouped in with these cherry picked European countries?) and a dozen European countries on top of giving no context of the person’s proficiency in the language, the whole thing just doesn’t really make a lot of sense, if you wanted to do a map of the US Canada and Europe do something remotely coherent like a map of leaders of NATO countries, feels like this is just made by a North American who just picked random European countries they thought would be interesting.
Most interesting one I see quickly is Kim in the central asian countries I assume from the mass relocations/deportations of ethnically Korean soviet citizens to central asia during WW2 and a more diverse set of names in central asia.
They already have sold most of it which is half the reason it’s not commonly known they had so much land especially in places in the western US nowhere near NY, surely they will just admit they made a mistake and buy back all the land they sold at market price and give that back though, surely
“American values” or conservative American values or what have you being betrayed, so the statue of liberty is shedding a tear
I didn’t realize substacks made you sign into read them, here’s an archive link
https://www.investopedia.com/financial-edge/1212/average-net-worth-of-the-1.aspx
As of 2019, the top 1% of household net worth in the U.S. starts at $11,099,166.
It depends what you mean by public records, if you’re a private investigator or really good at digging through records you can find things, but it’s not like it’s easy and even then it’s only the stuff that needs to be reported by law which is not a lot, the only reason I mentioned Delaware is it’s famous for being a destinination for LLCs which people use to hide their money
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/apr/06/panama-papers-us-tax-havens-delaware
“You don’t really have to go to Panama or other tax havens. They are not the only ones making it possible for corrupt officials and other criminals to launder their money. You can do it in every state in the US,” explained Shah.
“In every state in the US, you can incorporate an LLC – [a limited liability company] – or another legal entity and you don’t have to disclose who the beneficiary on it is. In fact, Delaware is so synonymous with anonymous companies and ghost corporations that it was named in Transparency International’s Unmask the Corrupt campaign as one of the most symbolic cases of corruption.”
read more here if you’re curious
I think you would be surprised at how much of it is in LLCs in Delware or trusts in South Dakota, there are plenty of tax loopholes domestically as well, most people under hundred-millionaire status are not doing panama papers type stuff
Are you furbysplaining the furb metabolism? smh
I STG if someone links me another mediabiasfactcheck 🫠
I am well aware of both the biases of the sources I read and the biases of the ones you read too
they have not blocked it and they probably won’t block it bc it involves signing in with your twitter and since it’s just an android app it’s not gonna get as big as nitter, I don’t think it’s really helpful to tell people to “just accept it” as an individual you’re not gonna be able to successfully lobby everything you follow to change to bluesky (which I think you can get rss feeds from) or masto (which you can get rss feeds from), like for example your city’s local government/services only posts on facebook and twitter, no rss, this is still useful for things like that
