From what I’ve gathered, they intend to support a variety of fediverse platforms, but have started with lemmy with kbin close behind.

    From what I understand this is about giving some money to the developers of Lemmy’s code.
    It’s just a common tip jar to finance further development of the platform.
    No mention of the revenue sharing and pay walls you brought up 😅
