I thought it was just going to be a parody of star trek the whole time like space balls was for star wars, but it had some interesting concepts and a lot of character development. Not what I expected at all, but I love it.
If we count all the guest stars (Picardo, Sirtis, Billingsly, Russ, etc) and directors (Frakes, McNeill) together, it might be close to triple canon then.
There should be an Orville community there because the Orville is a Star Trek show.
I just started watching that show a couple days ago
What do you think so far? Season 1 has some pretty good episodes—something you can’t always say about Star Trek proper.

It gets better, too!
I miss The Orville! It filled a huge void for me.
Hey, if it stars an extra from Enterprise, it’s canon.
Cassidy Yates is also a regular there so double canon?
Voyager’s Doctor makes an appearance too

Edit: Couldn’t leave Tuvok relegated to “etc”.
And it has the (sniff) ideology of Trek
The Doctor vs. Phlox, even. Turns out Phlox was a bit of a dick.
Marina Sirtis is in an episode as well.
… and some more I’d forgotten about: https://screenrant.com/orville-star-trek-actors-cameos-every/
That makes Babylon 5 canon as well.
@raspberry_confetti @Powderhorn
“Great maker!”
Speaking of… Did you see the trailer for the new Babylon 5 movie?
