    They really don’t. Apple gave Microsoft full keyboard API access, while shutting out an indie developer making FlickType, an accessible keyboard. Apple gave a paid Mastodon app a quick pass to the app Store, while withholding the excellent free, open source Ice Cubes.

    You’d think a higher barrier to entry would make the app store better overall, but instead there’s this massive gulf between polished apps by giant companies and sketchy apps by sketchy groups.
