If you don’t mind not having each site sandboxed, you can do this natively with Google Chrome. Go to a site, then open the menu and tap “Add to Home screen”.
The description of Hermit says “They don’t run in the background, which saves battery”. Does that mean that it doesn’t support notifications? IIRC that requires a service worker in the background.
I use the Hermit app to “make” mini-apps of websites I frequently visit. They can also be sandboxed too.
What do you mean by sandboxed?
Sandboxed as in each site is isolated and does not share cookies and info with other sites.

I’m not sure about notifications since I don’t have any of them enabled.
