Honestly what the hell is up with the buttons being reversed tho it keeps confusing me
It’s the 13th century aristocracy. Button holes were invented then. Any proper lady who could afford these new fashionable buttons would have servants to dress them. The leftward button orientation makes it easier for someone to button your shirt for you with their dominant hand.
Men have to dress themselves, so the buttons go to the right to make it easier for him to button his own shirt.
That’s one of the leading theories anyway.
Ok I see so I just have to ask someone else to do my buttons on fem shirts (I’m a proper lady)
