I made a pithy comment, but really, his character was developed to contrast Superman’s. They have a similar sense of justice (which is why Lex isn’t part of the convo), Superman smears Batman up front, but with enough time and prep, Batman wins without superpowers.
Or the modern Snyder characterization, neither wins and they bond when they realize their mom’s were both named Martha.
Aye, the point of Batman is that with enough time to prep (and money, and good-looking rich white guy power), he can defeat even Superman.
