Greetings Lemmy community,
I wanted to express my frustration with the Lemmy developers for consistently closing my reported issues as “not planned” without involving the community in the decision-making process. It appears that the devs prioritize their own interests, such as developing Android thumb keyboard apps ([email protected]), over listening to user feedback and addressing community priorities.
Given this approach, I have decided that I will not be contributing to this project in any capacity. It is disheartening to see a lack of consideration for user input and a focus on personal projects rather than community needs.

Fortunately, there are still opportunities for me to contribute to projects like SubLinks and PieFed, where developers are more open to community input compared to the Lemmy platform.
Thank you for your attention, but I regret to say that I will not be engaging further with this project due to the lack of user-centric development practices.
It’s developers working on their time to build an app they want. You don’t have the right to demand they do things your way.
I have the same right they have to ask for contributions and support for something they are going to do their way.
well… yeah and most people don’t contribute. You’ve got to understand the devs aren’t exactly sitting around waiting for things to do, they have more than enough critical work and are arguably underpaid.
Why would anyone contribute? Would you pay someone to work for you if they don’t want to listen to anything you have to say? When they close issues without allowing the community to provide input, that’s exactly what they are doing. If they were too busy to engage with the issue tracker, I wouldn’t mind. However, if they simply appear to close issues with numerous upvotes and no downvotes, it frustrates me.
Your issues are 5 upvotes average. There are a bunch of opened issues with way more upvotes than this.

blud I contribute like 5 bucks a month. There’s not a lot I can reasonably expect. Unless you’re contributing 50x as much, you’re in the same boat.
