I am theoretically switching over from Reddit to Lemmy. Finding myself spending more time on Lemmy than on Reddit. Maybe it’s because I am limited to using the desktop and can’t aimlessly browse Reddit on my iPhone. Of late, the only subreddits I cared for were on sports and their matchday threads and r/watches. I found myself aimlessly browsing through r/AskReddit and asking and answering pointless questions.

I’m trying to. I’m still figuring out which Lemmy instance/Reddit alternative I like the best, but using Reddit is so habitual that I’m still retraining myself to avoid it fully.

I like kbin.social a lot, but the nice thing is that you don’t necessarily have to just choose one. You can make an account on multiples and just switch between them (yes it’s a pain). I would imagine this instance will likely become the hotspot for most people though.
