What I think I’m hearing is there are “2” kinds of people, those who know they’ve fucked up, see it, own it, and remain humble.

And those who aren’t as humble and are, instead, confident and possibly unaware.

There’s more here, though. Calling oneself stupid isn’t humble. It puts the focus on oneself. Keeps it there. The occasional flitter that swings and reminds us that we’re all just trying… Cool. Dwelling? Less cool.

I’m not talking about a continuum. I’m talking about leaving the “stupid” line and being less focused on that. And more focused on being decent, virtuous and not a chump, all at the same time.

Also, some “confident” people are very self aware and aware of their inadequacies as they see them. They just don’t let that stop them from engaging. In short, all may not be as it appears.

Between feeling like the corps are just using the delivery drivers and the fact that the service, locally, adds minimal value for the $ spent…

I don’t use them. I really don’t think I’m alone in this. The feels are just consistently ick every which way.

While I wish I’d done it with better financial timing, it worked out and I’m glad I’m here. Hell, it sounds like your skills are a good fit for certain places, too.

If it suits you, find a place where outdoors is a place you can enjoy almost every day of the year. They aren’t as rare as Texas makes it seem.

Both scenarios breed resentment.

We need better answers, like… free public education, better schools, tutoring supplements for those who ask (including high acheivers), and it needs to go through uni and trades.

We can’t keep having people left behind because of structural issues. Poor decisions happen and it’s nice to soften blows where we can. But if a person commits no errors and ends up paycheck to paycheck for the rest of their life… that’s a failed society.

We need to transcend the “they get x and we don’t” part of this and get onto the real thing.
