I think it was lead and cadmium with the Shrek drinking glasses from the 2000s, both chemicals are commonly used to paint glass mugs. This is not exclusively a McDonald’s issue, but also applies to other painted glasses (Holiday souvenirs, Sports club Merch, other drinking glasses and mugs made in china).

You might be able to buy a set of paper test strips for less than $10, but more accurate results from a lab are more expensive.

Because at this time the internet was still slow, not always on and optional on most computers, and Microsoft did not know if and how they should integrate the internet into the OS. The only thing they had at the time was some link to MSN on the desktop, and activeX (???) Where you could display websites on your desktop or within your program, but without the Browser controlls.

The could make everything above 1080 quality subscription only, or charge uploaders for the storage. This would probably also cut down on the low quality spam Channels that only exists for ad revenue…

downvotes come at a “cost”, whereby if you want to downvote someone you have to reply directly to them with some justification, say minimum number of characters, words, etc.

I would choose a different solution. Instead of always up or down voting by 1 point, everyone gets a fixed points budget per day, that is then distributed between each post you vote on. So if you only up vote one post, this vote counts more than the vote from someone who votes on 100 posts per day.

This would solve the mass down voting of legit content on YouTube or Facebook, where quite often conspiracy dipshits in their telegram channels post videos or Channels that should be down voted, while their own right wing propaganda gets upvoted. So the most active accounts who spent all day on the social would be muted, while average User would have a more important voice.

“controlling people from theirself” also prevents them from drunk driving and killing others.

They can use your wifi signal as a beacon by triangulating the signal strength from at least 3 different points. Then they can figure out in which departments you spend the most time, how long you spend in store, heatmaps, which aisles you skip and generic info like what time you visit, which locations you also shop at.

A quick google for “Retail Wifi tracking” brings up mirame.net , where you can see some of the features.

I would suggest to set your phone to flight mode if you see a “free wifi” sign in your shopping mall.

The problem is that it will only recommend content based on my previous watch history. It will not recommend me new topics I have never heard or shown interest about and surprise me with something new that might also be interesting or important.

There is an enterprise windows version that comes without tracking, telemetry and auto installed crapware, but it costs more.
