  • You don’t have to like Google or Pixel, but we’re all adults here. Grow up and use your words like an adult. JFC, you’re not advertising for them, you’re asking a question about it.

Google Google Google Pixel Pixel Pixel

See how hard that was? Hell, you can even follow it up with, “Google Pixel phones suck and Google is a terrible company.” Censoring words for no reason is so fucking childish.

This about the dumbest post I’ve seen today. How dare these people exercise safety so that they can install the fucking safety barriers that you want for the bike lanes. Holy shit, take a step back and get a sense of reality.

  • No it doesn’t. It’s an act that literally every person on this platform has heard of. Saying smoking, drinking, drugs, etc, does not promote the action or product. What trying to censor it does is make what you’re saying, confusing. Your message has a lack of information and seriousness, so the effects of what you’re trying to express are going to be lost on a lot of readers.

I get what you’re saying and empathize with your beliefs, but if you’re dealing with adults, you need to use the language to adequately articulate your point. While I may agree with your sentiment, the censor immediately puts your comment at a disadvantage and, at least personally, I write off the subject of it almost immediately.

Just don’t go out and say, “go smoke and drink” when discussing those topics, and I think that’s good enough to qualify as not promoting those things. Just my two cents. Not trying to be a dick if it comes off that way, just trying to give some outside perspective.

Don’t smoke and drink, it’s bad.

  • Self medicating is not good advice, but fuck, THC has been magical for me in this regard. I’m not saying it’s made everything alright and that it doesn’t carry negatives with it, but overall I’m better with it in my life. I still have other issues with depression and possible ADHD (lots of symptoms, waiting list to get a professional eval) but weed helps me chill and cope with life.

I want to try shrooms, but I need a good Sherpa, and product. I had a little bit of a shroom chocolate bar last new years, but I was already stoned and drunk, so I couldn’t tell where the alcohol ended and the shrooms began.

  • YT isn’t pushing the content that I’m subscribed to. It’s hosting it and serving it when I want to watch it. In turn those creators make money so that they can continue creating content that I enjoy. There is no better platform for finding content on how to compete some tasks, like fixing something specific on a car, how to knit a scarf, or unbiased snowboard reviews. Without YT, that information does not exist to the general public for free or is not easily accessible. Can it be better? Absolutely. But it is absolutely a net gain for content creators regardless of the disservices you may be referencing, and as I mentioned, provided access to information not available anywhere else.

  • I originally got YT music which came with YT Red. I don’t like the price increases, but I have a family plan and 4 of the 6 spots are friends that pay me for access. It costs my wife and I about $6 a month for unlimited music streaming and ad free YT. I don’t have any problem paying for content as long as it’s accessible and not overly priced. YT isn’t free to run so Google has to make money somehow and that’s either ads or premium memberships. Some of that goes to content creators that I spend hours watching weekly.

I’ve read about how some of the ad content is displayed on videos it shouldn’t be, and some ads are overly intrusive, and that’s not good. Also, I don’t agree with many of Google’s practices as of late. That sucks, but until there’s a better option with the content I want to watch at a price I’m willing to pay around, I’ll happily pay my dues.
