I don’t know much about GTA, but I have a hard time imagining GTA6 being anything less than a gigantic success. It doesn’t need to be a massive improvement over GTA5, it just needs to be a noticeable upgrade. The only way I can see it failing is if they get too greedy with their live service model, but even then it’s still probably going to sell like 40 million copies in its first year.

I think tech reviewers are really naive for thinking that Apple Vision Pro is the future of computing just because it was made by Apple. Nobody wants to use their computer or watch movies in VR, except for in niche situations. My prediction is that users will quickly realize that they don’t actually have any use for the Apple Vision Pro, and the product line will be discontinued.

Why not just have all of that open on one desktop? Is it because you want your personal stuff to be hidden in case you need to share your screen?

They could add some kind of warning message that notifies you when the URL has unicode in it. Then the user can decide if they want to disable the warning or not.

I think it will happen. Multiplayer video games already match people with bots that are presented as if they were human players, and 99.9% of players don’t care. As long as a game makes you feel like you’re playing against other humans, most people consider that good enough. Similarly, as long as a bot on Instagram or Twitter feels human enough to be enjoyable to interact with, users won’t care that they aren’t actually human.

As someone who hasn’t worked on open source projects, can someone please explain what this means? I know what ActivityPub is and I know what Git pull requests are, but I don’t understand what they have to do with each other. Is the idea that this lets you view GitLab pull requests from outside of the GitLab website?

Sounds kinda cool but I can’t think of any situations where I would want to use it.

I see what you mean. In a way, lifestyle and fashion choices are already partially governed by AI, in the sense that Instagram and TikTok recommendation algorithms influence what the user perceives as being trendy. I don’t know if we’ll get to the point where people are literally letting an AI tell them what to do, but I think AI will only get more and more influential in our lives in subtle ways.

Why is everyone saying this is because Stack Overflow is toxic? Clearly the decline in traffic is because of ChatGPT. I can say from personal experience that I’ve been visiting Stack Overflow way less lately because ChatGPT is a better tool for answering my software development questions.
