As someone who said “hell no” earlier in the thread, asking for four stories with a fridge is an entirely appropriate situation to tip.

Check your delivery contracts, they’ll usually specify ground delivery or one floor only. Four is very much above and beyond, and worth the bribe if they’ll agree to it.

Crazy… I’ve always suspected it was some kind of targeted BS. They spend money to pay a cop to sit there all day and ticket broke people with $150 fees, when they could paint a ped crosswalk and make the store easy to access. It felt designed to be actively hostile to pedestrians. And of course there’s always tenats moving in and out, constant source of new ppl that didn’t know how strict they are.

Cops around me regularly use jaywalking for fuckery too. I lived in a low income apartment directly across the street from a convenient store. Basically a stones throw from apartment property entrance to store front door. It wasn’t a terribly busy road, it was four lanes and did get traffic, but it was pretty easy to find breaks in the flow and cross.

To get from the apartment to the store legally, you had to walk nearly a quarter mile (400m) to the nearest cross walk, cross, then another quarter mile back to the storefront.

Police would post up outside at that store and write jaywalking tickets all day for anyone that didn’t know better. I watched those tickets escalate into detainment and occasionally searches and arrests if they argued with the officer about it.

Edit: of course if you had a car, you could just drive across the street to the store. No problem with that!

My previous home line had a hard cap at 1TB per month. That seemed like a lot at the time, but I think as the internet grows and requires more bandwidth these “sky high” caps will feel smaller and smaller.

50GB a month though?? You don’t use any video streaming services at all? What do you use for media?

I understand, thank you. My statement kind of assumes north korea is maintaining a fork of the kernel they patch and customize. It also implies NK is one of the few organizations that would accept russian contributions into their fork, given the somewhat limited number of linux projects operating outside of the sanctions.

NATO will continue expanding as more and more border countries don’t want to deal with limp dick Putin. Russia will be broken up to small territories and anything that remains of the federation will be scrapped and sold for salvage to finance rebuilding what has been lost.

Usually it’s not recommended to start with your “dream game”. Pick an engine (I like Godot), grab some Kenney art assets, and get to work on a pong or snake clone. This can be using written tutorials, videos, or hard mode, read the docs and piece it together.

Trying to learn a language, learn an engine, learn the art pipeline, learn game dev concepts AND dream up a new game concept with custom assets simultaneously is trying to boil the ocean. Start small: add a start menu, add a scene. Make jpg appear and move using player input, add an obstacle, add a death scene/restart. Iterate from there.
