  • I got fed up with Windows and recently tried Linux Mint. In regards to ease of use it was like a breath of fresh air. Things just work inherently, and I didn’t have to fight with it to remove bullshit I didn’t want.

As for software compatibility I’ve mostly already had alternatives readily available. For other things the tools exist to make them compatible and don’t take long to learn.

There is no reason not to recommend it to people who are getting annoyed with the enshittification of Windows.

  • People do choose to believe in things that I think are ridiculous and saying that I cannot call that out is just religious people saying you can’t call them out.

And what value does your calling them out add to the discussion? Does it lead to an interesting nuanced conversation? Or is it immediately just people insulting each other while saying nothing other than “you’re wrong”?

If it never leads to useful or interesting discussion and only leads to flame wars and arguments then it should be banned.

  • The majority of people that heard that protest were those who travelled from around the world to see Stonehenge.

I didn’t travel to see Stonehenge and I’m hearing about it. So is everyone in this thread.

    Their plans were ruined

And I see that now that the stones have been shown to be undamaged the dismissal of the protest is pivoting to “the poor people taking recreational flights have had their entire trip ruined!!!”

If people become less likely to take unnecessary flights because protestors might “ruin their trip” I would consider that an absolute win.
