The trick that the Government has learned is that it’s easier and cheaper to buy your location data from a third party.
No warrant necessarily since the data is available to anyone who wants to buy it.

What we should do is put chainlink fence around the corner, but make the part that the users loved the most accessible with a monthly pass that they can only walk on with shoes purchased at the university store.

The ironic thing is Breyers ran commercials about how you could pronounce every ingredient in their ice cream. They had like a 10 year old read their ingredient list vs. competitors.
But when they got bought out by Unilever, quality went downhill fast
For now. I fully expect rules like this to be fully rolled back so that ice cubes will be legally “ice cream”.
It’s funny that the last time this was floated by Republicans, they thought they were kicking the Democrat states out.
In other words, they thought they were keeping the Federal government.
Republican states need Democrat states far more than vice versa.
If Trump truly does win, Republicans won’t split the country. They’ll make it even more impossible to leave.
A right-wing social media influencer was sentenced to seven months in federal prison on Wednesday for spreading falsehood
Good to know that disenfranchising voters is only 7 months. That’s like the length of a school year.
I think the onion is stealing my thoughts. I had this thought that this is how Republicans could trick people on not voting. Basically going to “those” areas and pretending to be election workers getting people to cast a "ballot” early. And then telling them that they don’t need to show up on election day.
When the $1 coins were released, most stuff in vending machines were still within the cost of a dollar. Thought I’m not disagreeing with your comment. Coins, for the most part, are relegated to coin jars and aren’t really “spent” in the same way that bills are.
The problem is that coins generally are just so inconvenient. I only hold onto them for the rare occasion where I need to feed a meter.
It’s one of the jobs of a bank though. They are supposed to exchange damaged bills and then exchange them with the mint, who then destroys them.
Honestly we need to get rid of the $1 bill generally but that’s a completely different post all together.
TBF…voter intimidation is likely to be coming from the Republicans. I wouldn’t trust any sort of hotline they post, even if it was in good faith.
If hookers could talk Linux to me, or even better, help me resolve my fucking display issue, I’d be giving them money hand over fist.
Literally
And figuratively

Jack Donaghy was a millionaire, not a billionaire, I believe. And iirc, he didn’t have seed money like many billionaires today.
He still believes in the traditional American dream and actually pushes back at Kabletown when they wanted to just collect their checks and not do any new initiatives.
He still exploits his workers, don’t get me wrong. Though a lot of CEOs could learn a thing or two from him as he repeatedly showed that you need workers to make money.
If you set up using compose and don’t have the version pinned:
dockee compose down && docker compose pull jellyfin && docker compose up -d
Yup. They went full OG AdBlock and got WaPo and other major publications to prevent them from working.
You can mimic what they did by adding the Google Crawler user agent to your browser but I just use archive.is
Oh this 100% is the government backdoor that they’ve been begging for. “If you can innovate your way into it, you can innovate a way out of it.”
That was in regards to Apple phones belonging to Boston bombers being encrypted and locked.
It’s no surprise that behind closed doors, the government asked these companies to create backdoors for them to spy on people.
Thank you but I don’t run a Mac. I used to back in the day. I just know how anal Apple is about people using their devices in any way that they don’t specifically want you to.
I sort of get it. When you self host mastodon or lemmy, you have to deal with the moderation that comes with it. That’s a headache unless you have a ton of free time. Judging by the age distribution, I’m guessing most of us just want things to work so we can do what we enjoy.
My primary phone belongs to my work. I get a stipend every two years that essentially allows me to buy any supported phone I want.
The conditions are that it’s managed by them via MDM and all my work stuff is on the work profile side.
It is a choice I make since it allows me to not carry two phones. I did that for the first two years at my company and it was annoying.
I was today years old when I learned that you can run a custom WM on a Mac.
That’s like…the equivalent of a coca cola soda machine dispensing Pepsi.
And in terms of down votes, I don’t really care too much. It evens out overtime.
My guess is that it’s the easiest and cheapest way to set up “MFA”.
The number of banks that don’t have proper MFA really bugs me.
