Same place on desktop. It’s kinda easy to miss, though, so thanks for the nudge.
Old, large, cranky. Gotta go to the bathroom.
Also, that picture isn’t me.

The article sorta hints at it, and my half-ass guess is that it was more practical to dig the Canal to a certain depth and pump more water in to make it ‘deeper’, than dig to depths adequate for huge ships they perhaps wouldn’t have envisioned in 1904.
Assuming each lock is effectively watertight, that’s fairly clever engineering, but it assumes a perpetual supply of water.
Disclaimer: I’m a high school dropout, so wutdefuquedoIknow?
This is my test post
You passed the test. :) Welcome to Lemmy.
Been here for almost two months now, and this is home. That other place, I visit only to follow a few old friends who aren’t here yet.
Lemmy has lower volume, but noticeably higher quality comments, not counting this one.
I dislike almost every Microsoft product, and always prefer the alternatives, but que sera sera. :) I don’t doubt that it works.
We’re required to use Microsoft Teams at my office, and oy, what an endless annoyance. If you’re in an MS environment all day, can you tell me how to make Teams understand that I’ve read something? All day every day, any time there’s a message in Teams, I spend five seconds reading it, then ten seconds trying to get Teams to stop marking it “unread.”
Agreed about Firefox, except I love it so much I haven’t given up on it. I just can’t. Been using Firefox since 1957. When a site doesn’t work, I jump to Chrome and it’s almost invariably OK. Only a slight hassle, plus that I hate Chrome too.
Maybe some people can read a book and listen to music at the same time, but I’m not smart enough. The music bleeds into the book, and it becomes Treasure of the Sierra Madre with Pink Floyd, which is completely different from Treasure of the Sierra Madre, if you catch what I drop.
Threads is not involved at all with the Fediverse, but Facebook/Instagram/Threads top schmuck Zuck says he wants Threads intertwined.
Let’s hope he’ll be shown the door and booted. His only goal would be to monetize us.
Ah, you’re probably right. I mostly hate Edge because I never chose it, downloaded it, or installed it, and of course it can’t be deleted. It triggers all my “intruder alerts”.
I have used it some at work, and hate it, but that’s mostly because work wouldn’t let me install adblockers.
They make money off the posts. If they suck in federated posts, they can monetize them.
Trump cannot possibly be sentenced to prison. He can and does deserve it, but it’s utterly impossible. Might as well wonder how high could pigs fly if pigs could fly.
In no sense is Edge is a good browser. It is built for ads and tracking, and makes surfing the web inherently unpleasant.
This is good to know and could be something I’d use a lot, but it isn’t working. Every Reddit address I try it on, the reply is “Nothing here. Head back home?”
Does the page need to be pre-prepared, like a web.archive.org address?
I can’t even get past the user interface at Discord. Rarely have I felt so uninvited to participate, even as the site aggressively invites me to participate.
