Google is great at basic tasks and delivering product results and promoted content, and if that’s what you’re usually looking for it probably works great for you. People have trouble these days trying to find the specific stuff. Google used to really excel at this in the past, but now it’s buried under pages of promoted content or pages SEO gamed to the top but not being very helpful

The post I’m replying to was acting as if they had some new wisdom from being polyamorous and their perspective on marriage. But it sounds like they’re just using it as a business move which is something a lot of non polyamorous people do as well, and nothing new. I wasn’t asking what reasons could possibly exist to get married outside of romance or whatever you’re talking about, I was asking SPECIFICALLY THEM why they bothered, with their “unique” perspective on relationships. But it seems the only actual reason they have is taxes, despite their diatribe.

None of those reasons require marriage, so it’s not a satisfying reason. I want to know why MARRIAGE, specifically? Just checking it off a bucket list perhaps?

Has anyone here noticed how it’s almost impossible to watch a TikTok on mobile if you don’t have an account or the app? My friend sends me links and I click it but the website opens playing it muted and it only plays the TikTok one time, no repeating. Then it prompts me to install the app. If I say I don’t want to the unmute button disappears and I’m unable to play the TikTok again with sound. The only way to do it is to refresh which just prompts me to download the app again after being played the TikTok one time with no sound. Aggravating as all hell.

The old comics are wild. The male friends stripped Archie naked and forced him to swim in a lake with them in a comic once.

I’d be pretty surprised if the Archie writers did that. I’ve been reading every Archie comic from the first printing, and they are pretty grounded in reality. Real musician names, real films, real actors, real fashion designers, etc. The panel this comic is from is only the 3rd time they’ve written a story dedicated to the “hop patch” dances between 1940 and 1950 (and that’s including all 4 comics series and the 3 yearly publications being released at the time featuring Archie). That’s a pretty long window with multiple artists and writers, who would have to remember the same parody of sadie hawkins. I’m more inclined to lean towards “wikipedia doesn’t know everything” than the Archie writers invented it. I do have a 90 year old grandpa still surviving, maybe I’ll reach out.

Edit: another example of the internet being ignorant, there is no record on the internet (that I can find) of the specific style of public washing machines that were depicted in the 1940s version of a coin-op laundromat within the comics. So either the Archie artists went to the trouble of inventing a never before seen style of a brand new technology in the era, or the internet simply has blind spots in our history.

They still do Sadie Hawkins, too! At least they did in 2007… I’m old now, nvm lol.

About a week ago now a good friend of mine was trying to play atomic heart on his headphones on his new gaming PC to really push the limits and see what it can do. The audio was immediately bad and crackly and glitchy, and he spent over an hour trying various solutions and fighting with Google for anything that could help, since he knew the headphones were fine since he used them on his work computer.

He didn’t plug the antenna into the dual wifi/bluetooth card in his new PC build. He was on ethernet, and didn’t realize Bluetooth needed an antenna as well. Over an hour and all that frustration, for an antenna he threw aside that he “didn’t need” 🤌

I used to think this, but I think the new posh astrology is mental disorders in general. It costs thousands of dollars to get professionally assessed, whereas MBTI is a free quiz online. Crippling anxiety, depression, OCD, panic attacks, etc., are the new ENFP
