Never said they were. But it’s foolish to ignore the significant populations of school children and older non technical people who have been reccomended the cheapest thing that won’t get viruses and let’s them get on Facebook and YouTube.
Unfortunately chromebooks have been one of the cheapest options for a whole now and have been being introduced all over school systems in the US so kids are used to them and uninformed parents will continue to buy what they know meete school requirements.

It’s too early for me to know if this is 3 layers of irony but Pitchfork was one of the most influential taste-maker’s when it came to that kind of indy / rock / whatever scenes through like 2010? Had music festivals and stuff too.
There definitely was a shift. People and subreddits that existed before the mass influx of phone / app users tended to hold onto the hate of emojis but there was definitely no stopping all the newer younger users that didn’t know and rightfully wouldn’t care about what smileys are acceptable on a forum :)

I don’t see it as very anti-consumer that every skin and statrak item has been brought along to the new game. I agree it would be nice to be able to play the old one, but I’d rather the option to torrent old clients and host my own dedicated server on the old one than be forced to upgrade to the new one. They don’t host it anymore, pirate away Who cares?
This release has sucked ass, CS:sources release sucked ass, Condition Zero as a whole sucked ass, and ask anyone old enough, the move to 1.6 from 1.5 sucked ass.
I still expect it to end up a good game, just like 1.6 and source eventually was.
they were never going to be able to release a totally new game without a lot of backlash from the addict skin trading communities. They wouldn’t want to risk their free income from the whales by splitting the player base and eventually shunning the skin investors stuck on the old game.
