  • Because there is no mirror image.

@[email protected] has given you a good description of fascist methods. They’re not available to the opponents of fascism because they are not fascists.

Fascism appeals to the worst parts of our nature. It gives permission to those feeling fear, humiliation or shame to lash out in anger and destroy the people that make them feel that way.

You can’t deploy the same tactics to make those people want to be on your side instead. If you try to shame them, they will just hate harder.

You should, of course, expose and ridicule the grifters who lead fascist movements and punching fascists is encouraged. But you need to distinguish between authoritarian leaders and the people they seek to lead.

You should not pander to the billionaire-funded leaderships (take note NYT), but you must not sneer at the people they are trying to lead (take note centrist Dems).

  • It’s very, very diffficult to find a way ‘in’, not least because there are a lot of groups you will one day know to avoid and they tend to be easier to find.

Think about what it is you want to do. Labour organising, direct action, protests and stunts, letter writing.

Attend protests and talk to people. Find relevant accounts on Mastodon and follow them.

And don’t be afraid to do your own thing. You don’t need to be under an official banner to get a group of friends together to picket your local representative, or block the entrance to EvilCorp, or whatever. Start getting involved where you can and you’ll make the connections.

  • such as the average net worth of the people in a country.

And the mean average makes no sense here either, which is why incomes and wealth are almost always quoted as medians instead of means, unless they’re totals which is a roundabout way of reporting the mean (if you know the population baseline).

The more unequal a country, the larger the difference between mean and median incomes.

  • Most rechargeable batteries are lithium ion. The faster you charge them, the more you take off their lifespan. It is ‘safe’ to charge at up to 2C (where C is the capacity of the battery) but generally preferred to charge at 0.5C or no more than 1C to avoid degrading the battery faster.

What that means is that any lithium ion battery can be charged to almost full (at 1C) in an hour (or an hour and a half allowing for the final slow trickle charge), and there’s no need for it to ever take more than three hours (at 0.5C inc trickle charge).

Bigger batteries often take longer because the charger is not as fast as it could be given the capacity of the battery. That won’t apply to sex toys which generally have very small batteries. So the electronics may be faulty or the contacts poor.

FWIW lithium ion batteries are generally best charged to around 80% and not allowed to fall below 20%. So if you’re having trouble charging it to full, that might be a good thing in terms of how long the toy will last before its battery reaches the end of its lifespan. But it depends how often you use it and how much charge it can take in between times.

Very long charge times are unlikely to be an intentional design feature so if it bothers you, contact the manufacturer.

If you live somewhere where the 2 day shipping actually gets to you in 2 days

That’s not really true if you need a specific thing, or choice of thing, and not just a generic version of thing. And …

Often you can get products right from the website of actual brands for the same price. You might not get 2 day shipping, but that’s almost never necessary. If you live somewhere where the 2 day shipping actually

… often you spend a hours finding an item somewhere else and when you go to checkout, they redirect you to their Amazon store.

I fully support efforts to boycott Amazon. But, sad to say, sometimes it’s not really feasible.

  • The word was coined as satire. Brain-dead liberals centrists took it seriously and, here we are.

I have been sadly disappointed by my 1958 book, The Rise of the Meritocracy. I coined a word which has gone into general circulation, especially in the United States, and most recently found a prominent place in the speeches of Mr Blair.

The book was a satire meant to be a warning (which needless to say has not been heeded) against what might happen to Britain between 1958 and the imagined final revolt against the meritocracy in 2033.

    Down with meritocracy

Edited because too many people don’t know what liberal means.
