Nah, some of the background on this I saw had her husband being on the selection committee and forcing the committee to choose her.

No he’s just a prick . He left Ohio as fast as he could then only came back to re establish residency when he wanted to run for office. He was living in California until then. He also way underperformed when he won, expected to win by 15+points but only won by 6 of I’m remembering correctly.
Ok then what is your point?i don’t mean to be facetious but is that’s not your point, it’s heavily implied in your second&third paragraphs, then it seems your point is that the people who criticize her haven’t read her work. That’s not really a stance worth arguing as there’s not a lot of evidence or rhetoric that can be brought to support it.
Objectivism is a self centered and unsustainable philosophy. Rand founded and describes it as “the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute”. A society where every person strives only for their on happiness and as the main character in the world is arguably one of the least viable social systems. That is pretty much the set up of an oligarchy.
Also your argument that she lives through something terrible so she can’t be wrong because that’s her experience doesn’t support her philosophy. She can still be a hypocrite and patently wrong without discounting her early life.
Answer their question with questions. If they ask about your weekend all about their’s then followup on a detail. They will talk for a couple minutes then end with some version of “hey great chat but I need to get a couple things done”. If you want to remain approachable you need to give people the chance to talk but also don’t really need to share much of yourself. Keep tabs on the easy things(kids, spouse, etc) and you have a lot of variations of very basic questions for a short conversation. How’s kid liking school? Did you and spouse have a nice weekend? Then one or two follow up questions to them and you can end the conversation without the other person feeling like you blew them off.
Dude you picked an obscure sub field of mathematics defined by looping a set around a sphere in order to make both positive and negative infinity equal. That’s like saying sea food is bad because I asked something allergic to shell fish if they like it.
My guy, not only are you wrong but the more you try to explain yourself the more you are revealing you don’t understand the subject. The evidence you are bringing up is supporting the premise of infinity not being a value. You are coming to the exact wrong conclusion.
I have a BA in mathematics and a masters in teaching mathematics. I am highly qualified to speak on this. Trust me, you’re wrong.
It is explicitly not a value. The reason you cannot perform arithmetic on infinity is because it has no value. It has cardinality but that is not unique. The set of all integers is infinite as is the set of all real numbers but they have different cardinality as integers are countably infinite whereas real numbers are not countable infinite.
Don’t think of infinity as a value. It’s more of a concept to explain numerical behavior. What you described would be like running north at 5 mph south. The limit diverge do it does not exist.
It will definitely be bad for Texans but realistically a lot of big players leave. Haliburton, American Airlines, AT&T, HP, Dell, USAA are probably at the top of that list because of wanting to keep defense contracts, regulations on foreign technology companies importing into the US, or fear of being forced to sell utility infrastructure.
Texas would have to lean super heavy on oil. I dint know enough about their economy but you’re right there would be no more federal military money and you would probably see them drop in economic size to something like Spain. Not a 3rd world country by far but also no where near an economic power house.
It’s an economic base now. If they secede the major companies there are not staying. They can grandstand all they want about Texas taxes but they will not want to lose our on being an American company and deal with trying to switch to bring a foreign company operating in the US.
You forgot the go to defense of “I’m serious until I get called out then I’m just joking where is your sense of humor”.
In 20 years. We are working on the speed run.
Same with me. The amount of graphs that are misleading at best that are portrayed in the news is infuriating.
In Ohio you have to vote early at the county election board and last I checked it was only open regular business hours. For me that means 30 minute drive in, pay for parking, 30 minute drive home. Waiting until election day I can walk to my piling place in 10 minutes, wait in line for 30-45,then walk home in 10 minutes. For a lot of places it’s not as easy as voting on election day.
