Correct. They don’t pay you to code. They pay you to solve problems, which normally ARE solved by code, but they really don’t care how.
Instead of a “renaissance man”, I’m a “renaissance nerd”. Pinball? Sure. Sci-fi? Of course. video games? Natch. 70’s Italian Prog-rock? A raison d’etre.

Honestly, I just hope Siri transcription for iMessage gets better, and that the music app will actually do a decent job of recognizing the artist/album/thing I want to listen to.
Not true! Mine’s exceptionally ugly, so I think “I really need to replace it” the instant I walk in.
Shoegaze is actually called that because the bands all have a ton of effects pedals, and they’re constantly changing settings and moving from pedal to pedal. So it looks like they’re staring at their shoes. I’ve never heard of it referring to spectators, though in hindsight I’ve done that a couple of times at shows, so…maybe?
Remember kids: you can buy musicians ear-plugs that mean you can keep listening to it your whole life without crippling phantom noise all the time.

There already is a sub, at least to stop drinking.
Nobody was quite sure. Site exists, nothing comes back. The joke is that the site crashed, and the admin doesn’t know the password to it because every time he types it all he gets are asterisks.
Fortunately, it appears archived.
Bash.org. RIP.
Which is odd- I threaten mine, and that’s why it behaves.
And I’m honestly astonished I’d never come across this before. This ranks up there with the story of Mel.
Remember when the “sleep timer” went missing and it wasn’t gone, it was just that the icon was missing/hidden? And that was only 1-2 years afo
1mb would take around 6 minutes, since IIRC your speed would be closer to 28.8 than 56 (I seem to recall that 56k was in large part due to compression, and those file types are all compressed).
“Share my drive”, oddly, takes a screenshot then offers to share it via iMessage
If I say “hey siri play NPR news”, it plays it in the apple “podcasts” app. You can also say “hey siri play the news” and it will ask you which news you want, and the first few times it will tell you your options (though I think the default is NPR)
Disagree. I want one but I’ve been waiting for decent pass-through, no computer cable… and fuck Zuck. If not for that last bit, yeah, the Quest 3 would have worked. I’m eager as hell for the Vision Pro 2/3. And the tech is going to improve.
“Play bbc world service” plays an hourly version of BBC News, approx 5 minutes long, that appears to be for the American market (at least when invoked in the US). No RSS feed exists of this that I’ve found.
Everyone games Power To Choose. I’ll keep TPG in mind in the future. Thanks!
Tell him to look at EnergyOgre.
