It’s not perfect, but I consider it as Jagex saying it’s fine.

Yes, this is exactly what I did when they forced the change a while back.
It’s actually kinda nice because it’s only one login now and easy to switch between them.
Since they changed to Jagex accounts, you can’t use Runelite directly anymore.
I use this launcher now. It lets you login to your Jagex account, then choose to play in either Runelite or the official client.
Terminal emulator with cloud sign-in. Ah yes, that’s exactly where I should be entering my root password. Genius.
Pretty sure this is just malware with extra steps.
Nextcloud uses webDAV, so it definitely can be mounted as a network drive (this is how I primarily use it, and it works well).
Yes, there are plenty of other options. No one is going to dispute that.
But Kali is a fine distro, even for regular users.
Don’t discount it just because “edgy haxor distro xD”. It’s a solid Linux and popular for a reason.
Why not?
It’s a well-maintained, Debian-based distro with several DEs to choose from and live USB persistence available out of the box.
Seems to fit OP’s needs pretty spot on.
Absolutely agreed, which is another reason they may not like Tails, either. It doesn’t exactly have the friendliest reputation among businesses.
Looks like this has already been answered, but I’m curious about why you’ve chosen Tails for this task? Is there something about your work/other tasks that requires the extra security and anonymity?
Kali (while known for pen-testing) is an excellent option here. Much more feature packed than Tails, with the built-in ability to create persistence on a live drive, too. I carry one of these with me all the time.
Or, you could fully install a distro to a USB drive. Then you could take Fedora with you, and have an environment you’re familiar with.
I say all this as a huge fan of Tails (I also keep a USB of Tails always ready). Just offering some other options that may not have crossed your mind.
That sounds really odd; Win 10 should be way more intensive than Mint with XFCE. Something else seems out of wack then.
From the announcement on the site:
Unlike the original DSL, this version has apt fully enabled
how green everything was
Lol, first thing I did was change my keyboard to the same green as the desktop.
Well, judging by the fact that it gave me my favorite (and current (Mint)) distro on the first try, I’ll say this tool is pretty solid lol
Does Plasma on EndeavorOS include Discover? For those that want GUI updates
Where’s the Copilot key?
As others have said, first make a full copy of the disk so you’re not working on a failing drive.
Then, I highly recommend DDRescue
Linux Mint works really well with Nvidia, too!
Where should you take a cow on a first date?
The moo-vies!
“…there was a 24% increase in heart attacks on the Monday following the switch to daylight saving time [in 2024].”
I’d say the people in that 24% have a quite valid reason to care.
