Leaving a carcass in the wild would attract scavengers and spread disease, which is prevented by inhumation. Cremation is also an option but requires a large amount of fuel. In early and prehistoric cultures, inhumation was the easy option.
Edit: to add to this, I read something on how the first “burials” were just piling rocks on top of the dead body, primarily to ward off scavengers. So, aside from honoring the dead, burial and cremation have a practical purpose as well.

I think most real-life examples have been plagued by corruption to the point that they fall into a different category altogether.
If you stay away from sketchy sites and don’t click every link that says “DOWNLOAD NOW”, Windows Defender and a web browser with ad-blockers should do their job well enough.

I don’t use it myself, but I believe Proton (or Proton Mail?) doesn’t require any additional info. At least back when I checked it out before. There’s also mail.com, as well as a plethora of pros & cons lists for email providers out there to google (with add blockers).
That’s only when a country follows these rules. Some countries don’t care and will tortue POWs and then ask, “What are you gonna do about it?” Because nobody is able to hold them accountable.
