Well the problem with the Texas power grid is that it exists in the first place. Still, when it comes to safety, you have to multiply how bad it is by the number of people it will affect, and divide by the amount of power generated to get the right picture. There is a media bias towards rare, intense events which causes people to think they are more common than they really are. This explains people’s views on nuclear power, school shootings, terrorism, shark attacks etc.

Statistically nuclear is by far the safest form of power generation. Of course, it would be good to locate it in areas that are not disaster prone. As far as I understand it though, the issue with nuclear is the cost. But in a perfect world we would need something to smooth out the inconsistency of renewables, either battery tech or something like nuclear that you can turn on and off as needed.

The thing is, I don’t actually disagree with it. I don’t care what other people do if it doesn’t affect me, I just understand why and I’m willing to say it out loud.

Not sure why this is such a common perception. Most of the software devs I know are pretty average people other than being computer nerds. I met one trans CS student in college but that was it.

Strong typing doesn’t have a widely agreed upon definition. Duck typing is not equivalent to dynamic typing.

I don’t recall having any problems with liquids in my omni playthrough which I quit around MV IIRC.

The mining is a breeze in nomi IF you play on a default world type. The official lost cities world type is actually a little poorly integrated since some essential veins spawn higher up. But with the scanner, buying ores with coins, and the diamond hammers you get to start with, I would say the mining is much simpler than most packs. And you can automate ores fairly early as well, so if you use your coins wisely it shouldn’t be an issue.

Got burnt out on omnifactory awhile ago but I’m trying nomifactory now. I’m trying to make a desert base kind of inspired by the ESO Hotel.

I also played a little Minecraft: Golden Times (Tekkit classic remake for 1.15) for the nostalgia but it’s basically an idle game once you get a power flower set up.
