No, the Lemmy moment is whining about capitalism, or jerking off Linux.

Is “worker owned” a fancy way of stating they are small business owners?
It’s my favorite series. Gun to my head, I’ll take it over TNG, but barely. Diverse cast of characters, great stories. Even when the dominion war came along we still got plenty of monster of the week episodes. And of course, DS9 had something no others series can come close to: Garak.
Do not question. Only consume.
Of course you’re exaggerating now. I already said I don’t know much about them. When you drop a shit ton of buzz words, people will assume you’re using at least some hyperbole. But alright man, I’m sure they’re worst group on the planet. You were right and I’m wrong. I apologize.
Well, no. A core curriculum is approved for each grade. Now I don’t know if it’s so specific that it’s broken down to every book. I would definitely like to get some more details on this particular situation. This book banning thing is getting out of hand.
Meh I don’t care enough about a bunch of moms with their panties in a twist or you to do any research. But please don’t convince yourself you’re right because someone didn’t take the time to prove you wrong. It’s not like you presented any evidence yourself. Just buzz word accusations.
Interesting. Could be some left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing stuff. I don’t want to imply malicious intent when blantent incompetence is just as likely. If this book was approved, but accidentally left off the official curriculum, then the teacher should obviously get their job back.
No offense man, and I’m not an expert on this group, but the fact you chose to use so many buzz words tells me they probably aren’t all those things. Misguided maybe, but people will take you more seriously if you don’t use the hyperbole you claim to not use.
Glad I read the article. She wasn’t fired for showing the book to hers students. She was fired for showing an unapproved book (which I then assume is not in the 8th grade curriculum) to her students. Teaching outside the curriculum is generally a big no no.
The question should be, why is that book not approved? That’s a rhetorical question btw.
You’re an unrealistic individual. Even those well off don’t have the luxury to simply quit their job without having something already lined up. I could quit my job now, and would be OK for a while, but eventually, obviously, my funds would dry up. This is the way of the world. To suggest there should be social programs that allow you discontinue employment for X amount of time while looking for employment is asinine. It would be taken advantage of quickly (because humans suck). I suggest you invest your energy into realistic solutions to societies problems and not waste time on fantasies.
Take your false reality and “touch grass” nonsense back to reddit.
The fuck are you talking about? You can find a new job and quit your current one whenever you want. People do it, literally, everyday. Stop fantasizing about the government giving you free money so you can sit on your ass playing video games all day.
I was using Boost on reddit, but their Lemmy version isn’t available yet. Read about Eternity. Thus far I have no complaints. It works.
Haha I refuse to watch that one. Cannot believe they wrote a musical for Star Trek. Ridiculous.
Couldn’t get into Lower Decks. Not interested in ‘comedy’ ST. As for SNW, I watch it, but not sold on it yet. I watched TNG episode “The Bonding” today. Nothing after ENT (S3 and S4) has approached the level of writing of that episode. Except maybe that one S2 episode of SNW. You know exactly what episode I’m talking about. It’s the only episode.
Zoomers will have a rough time rebelling when they can barely leave their home. Obviously there is some hyperbole there, but with the ability to “socialize” via online methods they are far more introverted than previous generations.
This meme is lame (as ost have been in the short time I’ve spent here). Everyone blames their parents generation for everything.
I watched it a few months ago. It has some campy moments, but that’s part of its charm. How many great movies can say the primary protagonist and antagonist never interact? Not many, I’d wager.
If you can’t trust Big Bathroom, who can you trust?
