I’m guessing the thought process is “well if my car is out of gas, that’s the one place I’d actually have to walk to.”

Some people don’t like when it’s too quiet. For some it’s uneasy, for some it makes it too hard to stop your mind from wandering. That can make it hard to sleep or hard to focus on a task. White noise is noise that makes it not quiet, but isn’t so loud or too full of meaning to be a distraction on its own. Most people use something like ocean waves, running water, rain, wind noises, the warp core noise from Star Trek, etc.
Yep, from way way back. BSD -> NextStepOS -> OS X -> iOS
In what universe does Linux run on 99% of mobile devices? Android is nowhere near 99% market share, and iPhones are not and never have been based on Linux.
Enshittification
Local elections are the time. That’s it, that’s the answer. Third parties have to build up heavy momentum in smaller elections and only then build up to bigger ones, and eventually the big chair.
Doing very little at the local level and making a big splash once every four years is not a strategy for public policy or even for public debate, it’s solely a strategy for fundraising.
He’s not even the main character, he’s a sidekick and not even the most prominent of the sidekicks really. (Despite the fact that he appears first in many character lists for the movie, the protagonist is Searcher)
lol 400%?
Try 27,200%. That is the actual ratio on publicly traded companies.
Trying to claim the term “Web3” is a futile battle. It is already widely understood to mean crypto and blockchain. If I see a job posting that says the company is built on Web3, I know immediately that the job is built on scams and grifts without having to ask further questions. Web3 as a term is ruined already.
For this to work it must be a different term than Web3. Maybe “Web 3.0” is different enough?
Ironically, the text on this meme is so small that I had to zoom in on it on my vertical phone to be able to read it
“We won’t use your calls to train AI without your consent, so it’s a good thing our new TOS includes you giving us your consent.”
There are a lot of valid reasons not to do a screw in plug, but hoses solved this problem decades ago. The tip turns, the cord doesn’t
Bonus, let’s nix the football team too. We don’t need the traumatic brain injuries.
Some of it can be done during study hall, while kids are doing their work.
Without normalizing for the number of these vehicles on the road this data is not meaningful. No matter how much I appreciate the depiction of cars as murder machines.
There were zero children killed by Titan submarines in the last twenty years, we should clearly take inspiration from this beacon of safety!
Letting discord take over IRC’s job was a mistake.
It’s not that you misquoted a line or something like that. The dictionary quote is an extremely well known saying that originated in the Bible. Zapp’s line in futurama is literally parodying that saying. By thinking the dictionary is in any way referencing the Futurama scene, you have revealed that you didn’t even get the joke in the first place.
The original Klingon of course
I really don’t see how it is at all defensible that the loan term for paying off the thing can be longer than the warranty for the thing.
That’s for when your car is out of gas. If you’re fully car dependent then the gas station is the one place you could ever be forced to walk to.
