The Chevy Bolt EUV (the EUV is the slightly larger one) checks all but the quick box. I test drove one recently and it was nice, and affordable. I’m strongly considering it. It’s also built with union labor if you’re interested in supporting that.

You’re not alone. I understand he has given money to good causes, but there is something about watching videos of someone throwing large amounts of cash around that makes me uneasy.

I also had this issue. I was doing everything I could think of to take care of my teeth, but I’d go to the dentist and they would comment about plaque and signs of receding gums. I switched to an electric toothbrush and waterpik. I was actually able to reverse some of the recession (verified by having the dentist take measurements, not notable by just looking)
Just goofin’…new boot goofin’

Aside from the problems cited in the article, I also find the routing of bike lanes in my area to be confusing as a cyclist and driver. Going from the shoulder, to between a traffic lane and parking lane, to even splitting the center lane with minimal barriers. The transitions from one lane position to the next almost always feels dangerous. If we could get some consistency it would help a lot. Don’t even get me started about the bike lanes that just suddenly end and require a merge with traffic without any signage.
These weren’t the beans I was promised when signing up for Lemmy.
I’m not down with room temperature, but I’m also amazed at how hot some people like their coffee. If I get coffee out, sometimes it’s like trying to drink magma. By the time it cools down enough, I’m over the thought of having coffee. I always ask the barista to throw a couple ice cubes in the cup first.
I know this article is from a UK news outlet, but I think it’s interesting that the SUV they used in the headline photo would be considered a small SUV by American standards.
My argument stands. The companies that don’t conform lose market share, because you don’t buy their products requiring proprietary accessories. Your example list of products exclude an iPhone, so they lost your business. The argument I’m hearing is that you feel the government should force a company to make their product nicer to transition to, or use. That is in the best interest of a company, however Apple has chosen a different path. It’s your job to let them fail or support their choices by giving them money. There are many people that use the Apple ecosystem and don’t really care what connector type is being used.
How many of you dweebs complaining about Apple “constantly changing connectors” and “making you buy proprietary cables” with every new phone realize that they’ve been using the same connector for over a DECADE now? I’m all for reducing e-waste, but come on. If you don’t like their stuff, don’t buy it.
He bean-t the rules.
This article gets a few things wrong. The first being that western countries don’t make stuff. The USA exported only $600 million less than China last year. The next 9 counties ranked in amount of exports are all part of the “Western” trade bloc. It also makes incorrect statements regarding natural resources. Last year Canada and the USA combined produced the same amount of oil as Saudi’s Arabia and Russia combined. As we switch away from fossil fuels this is less important anyway. Rare earth metals are going to be the big issue from a resource standpoint. The author seemed to spend a lot of time getting the history of fiat currency down, but didn’t do a simple search to check to see if the assumptions being made about a possible impacts are based on fact.
