Dave Foley?
Dave Foley?
What was revealed about the ship? It always does the same thing.
Some of them, notably the Romulans, were a little stereotypey. I know they’re going for funny, but it’s Star Trek, makes me feel weird.
It won an Emmy.
Subtle updates that don’t impact historical consistency are an acceptable compromise for conservation.
working out their differences
Did you watch the same episode I did? They didn’t work out anything at all. That was what made it so special.
Kirk’s Gorn was the captain. Maybe he was old and feeble? Not suited for a fight, still pretty strong but no longer fast and agile. The Metrons chose the captains, not the best fighters.
We all must have done some pretty amazing stuff in our past lives, to deserve this season we are getting.
There was also a Klingon scientist in the Enterprise 2 parter about how the Klingons got smooth heads. He even talked about what it was like being a scientist in a society of warriors.
The whole deal with that is that they did it, in TOS, without any sort of explanation. We just had that dude, who McCoy discovered was really a Klingon, even though he looked just like a human. That whole thing is just adding an explanation for something that was long-since already there.
Also, you sound like you’re talking about the Orions. Do Klingons even have scientists? Somebody has to build the ships!
+1 for Equinox. The Void from season 7 also covers similar ground, with a dose of ‘maybe Starfleet’s ways of thinking are correct’.
Cost them my Paramount sub. And I told them that if I was gonna subscribe to a service, just for Star Trek, it darn well better have all of it.
I got the parts back. They are wrecked, one is broken in half, and they are covered with solder drippings. Going to trash them, they weren’t worth a lot to begin with, just gonna take the L. I didn’t pay them, they seemed huffy about it but whatever, I don’t have to see them again. Thanks for the advice all!
I laughed my ass off, and it was still Star Trek to the core. What’s not to like? They are killing it this season.
I feel like I’ve heard more people complaining about people complaining about this episode than I actually heard complaining about this episode. Feels sort of preemptive.
Perhaps being from such a hot planet, their cuisine consists of mainly chilled dishes.
Honestly, I prefer the version of the future that contains that one dude who thinks hairy cereal is an absolute banger idea.
The Trouble With Edward is indeed canon. Somewhere in the Federation, there’s Tribbles cereal, and someone who believes in it enough to make commercials for it.
I don’t understand that dude, needling the dude with no memory who was beating on him, then acting all surprised when that same dude puts a gun on him. Like, what was he trying to do? It seemed like he was trying to get Pike to kill him, but then he wasn’t. Wtf?
It’s been an ongoing plot line that Migleemo is sort of a lemon at counselling.
