The interesting part and the reason I always remember the story is that when the doctors washed her guts, they found a dead tapeworm. The bleach killed it. And the hospital staff gave it back to her in a jar haha. What a souvenir.

Uhhhh, doesn’t the digestive system break down and slough off in tapeworm like pieces? I remember the BtB episode on those crazy Church of Bleach fuckers, and that was one of the symptoms the children had after their parents forced them to drink small amounts of bleach over a time. Eh, I agree with the OP, but Memento isn’t comparable to the sort of thing they’re complaining about. Memento is a story told backwards to mess with your perception of the story. The “flashbacks” (flashforwards) are a lazy trope to either try to suck you into the story by giving you the cool part near the climax as the front of the movie or some emotional manipulation crap. The “I bet you’re wondering how I got here” variant is the absolute worst tho…

Jumping a turnstile and taking a physical, actually scarce resource is not comparable to duplicating a digital, artificially scarce resource.

The train requires ongoing maintenance and can only hold a finite amount of people. Taking the train seat for free takes away something from another person. Downloading media does not use any ongoing resources, and does not take anything away from another consumer.

Comparing the morality of physical goods to digital goods are not really a good comparison specifically because of the artificial scarcity brought on by making something digital to try to make it more expensive doesn’t map to the real scarcity of physical goods.

So just swap new drives in one at a time, after backing your data up just in case. I upgraded mine to 4x10 drives 3-4 years ago, and its painless as long as you wait for the resilvering process to complete.

I was worried when I saw LegalEagle in one of the chapter titles, but I’m glad it went the way it did. Was entirely unsurprised by the vid turning into a breakdown of that JS asshole (can’t remember his name), and holy shit is he a piece of work.

That said, celebrating someone dying in the way that’s happening now shows disrespect to human life and an utter lack of humanity.

If he had been murdered, sure. But the fucker lived to be 100 years old and died peacefully, unlike countless other people’s deaths that he was responsible for. Celebrating the peaceful death of a monster isn’t anything to be upset about.

I understand the motivation, but it should be fought against by remembering that no one is ever just one thing, everyone is a mix of good and bad
