You’ve chosen a definition thats dependent on where you percieve ‘center’ to be. Its a variable point therefore to you that word doesn’t have a fixed meaning. A European centerist is an American left leaner, a decade ago the american ‘left’ was talking about UBI and medicade for all, now they’re talking about fixing bridges that are about to fall down. You’re either blind to the overton window shifting or happy that things like infrastructure upkeep is now considered ‘leftism’ but despite your best efforts, words still have meaning. You’re one of the people trying to obfuscate those meanings.

The difference between liberals and the left is the stance on capitalism. Liberals believe they can make capitalism work, leftists insist we must move beyond it. The people obfuscating liberal and leftist are the people who want the discussion of moving past capitalism to stop. Don’t help them.

I mean, it’s not like there aren’t large communities of Asian immigrants all over the world. In most countries, and definitely the English speaking ones, I almost guarantee your country celebrates it somewhere. Beyond all the other problems with this, it erases the experiences of Asian immigrants, I live in the US and I know for a fact there’s going to be tons of celebrations here for it organized by people whose cultures it is.

Sometimes those are straight, and sometimes they have a nice little curve to them.

Gee look at that, when it’s someone detestable, no one even cares. I was looking for one I saw about a week ago where someone called them out for bodyshaming and got downvoted for it. Ill keep going, im sure theres more. On this site Bodyshaming gets you upvoted though. Gee if only someone tried to bring this up, im sure they’d be met with open dialogue and not baseless accusations and being talked over. Stay posted, I’ll get more.

Glad this comment finally got out if the negatives but they’re drowned out in number and number of votes by people insisting that insulting his disability is okay. Lemmy has a real problem with this, and assuming all of them also support misgegendering is short sighted, untrue, and unhelpful. Im sure user ‘progressiveist’ is a big time misgenderer though because that makes sense.
