Yeah, I’m mostly curious if additionally to the therapeutic benefits of overcoming trauma or changing beliefs, the benefits of neuroplasticity might overcome some of the “freezing” effects of aging as described in the article

As somebody that’s turning 40 in 2024, well, that’s terrifying.

The study mentions that global connectivity actually rises as you age. Since many studies suggest that one of the major effects of psychedelics like psilocybin is to increase neural connectivity and even induce some neuroplasticity, I wonder how that would play out in an older brain?

Ah, that’s fair. I’m a pretty casual player and didn’t really go deep beyond the medium skill levels, so I didn’t really appreciate the cut-corners beyond that. I hardly even played much multiplayer TBH, I played and loved the single-player campaigns, which is what I tend to do on most games :D

I clued into this many years ago and my sense of direction has been massively upgraded ever since. I always have a mental image of the Google Maps (facing North) of a place, even when I’m visiting a new place. As a result, it is much faster for me to plot new places in my mental map. Definitely a skill worth developing!

I saw that announcement video when it first came out and was super hyped for The Division. I didn’t end up playing it until around 2019 and I was really impressed with how close to the trailer the actual gameplay was. I know it had some controversy, but I guess I’m easy to impress lol

Surprised nobody’s said The Division yet. The first one is incredible fun IMO, and the second one is good, but not as much fun.

Ironically this image is doing what the influencer is supposed to be doing, which is ragebaiting for virality. I’m pretty sure the cigarettes in last two pictures are completely photoshopped precisely so that people fume and rant. I’m willing to bet the captions in the entire set of images is made up. I’ve been using LibreOffice as an MS Office replacement for a decade or so, although most of my documents are still on Google docs. The LibreOffice UI seems to have never really improved at all, and even the updating experience is annoying. I don’t understand how such a lucrative productivity app has no developer support behind it?

OpenOffice got me really excited, because that UI seems modern and polished. It’s really unfortunate that it’s mostly we lb based and apparently really slow.

So yeah, 100% agree with you. LibreOffice with the OpenOffice UI would be 🔥
