  • Yeah I’m feeling this pretty hard.

Started a new position last Monday. I’m very happy with the role actually, but it seems so hard to find actual training. I really shouldn’t complain, I’m not assigned much work currently or in the near future.

Just would be nice to have a better idea of the day-to-day, however.

  • Thank you for the nostalgia blast.

I do remember loving odwalla, specifically the carrot juice. But this was more than a decade ago, when I was still in high school.

Never remember them rebranding as naked juice. Although I do remember picking up naked juice on two separate occasions wondering how the taste would be. Two times was enough to learn the taste wasn’t worth the price.

  • Wanted to add my perspective. Decided to splurge and get the z fold 5 after rocking the OnePlus 7 pro for 4+ years now. Wouldn’t have upgraded except I cracked the shit out of my OnePlus recently and repairing/replacing just wasn’t worth it.

After using this phone for a couple days, I have having serious thoughts about returning it. Spent so much time customizing the keyboard for the main screen, but just couldn’t find a comfortable typing experience. Then I realized I hadn’t installed GBoard yet. As soon as it was loaded, I was off to the races. No customization required. Very comfortable typing experience now with the default settings.

  • I did read the article…

You should probably try to engage in discussion rather than put down a different viewpoint.

Edit: just for clarity I’ll mention how the entire first half of the article was about his conversation with his friend and how hopeless and lonely the author felt about the knowledge of the impending doom of civilization. His friend wasn’t ready to accept it

That is what my comment is referring to.

  • The thing is, yes it may happen.

But neither you or I know when or how things will begin to south. All we can really do is live our lives and love our loved ones.

We’re all gonna die eventually. Hopefully in many years due to old age. I currently don’t make enough to start doomsday prepping.

I’m not trying to be a defeatist here, but there comes a point when worrying about a possible eventual collapse is not worth it. And I’m not sure doomsday prepping is the answer. But goddamn do I hope to own a piece of land one day in a fairly rural area with a fully off-the-grid existence and subsistence off the land.

That’s the retirement idea for me.
