As a fan of all those shows (except the last which I haven’t seen yet, thanks for the tip!) this guy nails it. Those are all great picks! I will add I really liked season 1 of ‘The Sinner’ was excellent. I can’t say I loved the rest of the series as much as season 1.

Education.

No for real, a lot of right-wing thinking comes from just parroting disinformation and being in their own echo chamber circles.

Educated people are more likely to ‘lean left’:

Environment: Higher education institutions often emphasize critical thinking, questioning of traditional norms, and exposure to diverse perspectives. This can lead individuals to adopt more progressive or liberal views.

Diversity: College and university settings are typically more diverse, exposing students to different cultures, ideas, and lifestyles.

Perspective: Higher education can lead to an understanding of economic inequality and systemic issues. Educated individuals might support policies aimed at reducing inequality and improving social welfare.

Career: Many educated individuals work in fields such as academia, healthcare, and social services, where left-leaning values like equity, public good, and social justice are prevalent.

Education is also ‘pushed’ by a lot of adults when I was a kid. I thought it was kinda normal / lame because duh, of course it’s important. I didn’t get grasp deepl WHY until I was older and realized it’s really a root causal issue of today’s problems.

Isn’t it more work to undo it and then do it again than just do it in the first place?

Hey! I have been using ESXi about three year now. I have two identical NIC I bought. One for WAN and one for LAN. I also discovered I had to use the onboard LAN port (3rd port!) just to be able to access the web control. (Is that normal?)

Anyway, I want to move to Proxmox, and then virtualize my OPNSense like I have on ESXi.

I get so confused by how the adapters should be. Ideally I would love to have the LAN connect to a (dumb) switch, and provide Wi-Fi. But one thing I never tried before is a VLAN to protect the LAN from the Wi-Fi traffic, but still allowing some systems to still work like streaming data from the wired PC on the LAN to the NVIDIA Shield Pro. But then keeping the Alexa/Echo system on a more restricted WiFi.

Can I do all this? I’m thinking I can, but. The hurdle of learning vlans and configuring the new Proxmox (which I’m pretty damn new to) is a daunting challenge.

I’m ready to try this though. I have a 4G wireless plus WiFi system to keep the other half happy while I tinker to get it all working.

Thoughts/Tips? Anyone?
