I had to borrow money from the bank this year to buy a car. That made me feel too adult and kind of drove me into a crisis.

From my antifascist perspective, an Apartheid state killing children is what is truly absolutely unacceptable. If diverse sectors of that society are not OK with war, Apartheid and murdering civilians, it’s on them to mobilize to stop that, not on the rest of the world to refrain from criticism just because the human rights violations their state actually commits are similar to delusional bigoted tropes about their religion. Also, criticizing the actions of a State, even a religious one, is not hate speech.

So, the primordial lifeblood of Lemmy consisted of historical memes. It was the thing that kept the feed going for many weeks in the beginning, and we still see echoes of that. It makes me glad because I feel I’m in a cozy, familiar corner of the Internet, replaying an entire lifetime of memes here. It’s as if meme culture was reincarnating in this very network of federated servers (ಥ ͜ʖಥ)
let me guess you’ve arrived recently here to Lemmy

I just wanted to make sure you know that food poisoning happens even when all microorganisms are already dead. Some bacterial toxins are resistant to high temperatures and can still cause disease even after their source has been killed. That’s why cooking something that’s been sitting around in warm or room temperature doesn’t make it safe to eat, even though it makes of safer than not cooking it.
