Winter, you say. It felt like spring yesterday.
Winter, you say. It felt like spring yesterday.
Nope. Not even once, and that’s just fine.
My Internet has Pihole and uBlock. I don’t know what these ad things are.
There’s nothing objective about that opinion at all. I think Mariah Carey’s song is cynical corporate kitsch written for one reason and one reason only: to make money. That’s why I hate it.
I can tolerate some of the secular big band/swing songs, and there have been a few decent ones since then. Fiona Apple does a brilliant cover of Frosty the Snowman. Vince Guaraldi’s work for the Charlie Brown Christmas show is still wonderful.
I’m not sure I realized that. Are you getting that info just from the app store, or are you detecting it somewhere else?
Podcast Addict has worked for years for me, and he’s constantly improving it. Why the fuck would I ever want a paid service to manage and profit on the podcasts I’ve always listened to for free?
I’ll bet Kissinger winning the Nobel Peace Prize wasn’t on his radar, though.
Ditto on the Arduino. I built a pickup winder for electric guitar, and it’s more than made up for its price in entertainment alone.
Both of the tools I tried from there failed hard and fast. The first was a rotary tool. I ended up keeping the plastic and using a motor from a printer instead until I bought my Foredom.
The second was a vibratory tumbler. After running it for a few hours, I walked into my garage to find it filled with smoke and the acrid smell of burning electrical equipment.
I took it back to the store for a refund and the manager threatened me, saying that he wouldn’t let me make any more returns after bringing back an obviously defective piece of garbage.
Glad you had a better experience, but that place is definitely not for me.
Hmm. Kinda rhymes with “garbage crate”. Horrible store. I’m never going back.
I’ve used, administered and coded on Linux for a very long time. So yup
Obscure keyboard shortcuts.
I was just [insert action here].
I’ve been thinking exactly the same thing. Facebook, Twitter and Reddit. Each of them a complete shit show of disinformation and censorship. Blogs and personal web sites are pretty much dead. It’s getting harder and harder for anyone without buckets of money to stand on equal ground.
After breakfast and coffee things tend to get better.
First, I appreciate your calm response in the context of my sarcasm. It’s not what I’m used to on the Internet, and it’s refreshing.
My simplest answer is that I don’t know. Neuroscience has made a lot of progress in the last several decades, but I’m unaware of any credible researchers claiming to have a unified theory of consciousness yet. We probably still have a long way to go, assuming it’s even possible to know.
Wow. I’m glad you figured that out. I thought it was going to be so much more difficult.
Krita is amazing.
I live in the US and speak three languages. I almost never have an opportunity to speak anything other than English, and it’s not for lack of desire.
That said, I think the word pathetic is way too harsh. People just have different needs and priorities.
