I’m running ext2/ext3/ext4 since 2002(?)… Never had a problem! But I’ve lost lots of data using reiser4, xfs & xfs, specially when blackout happens. If you don’t have a no-break/not using a notebook, and you have important data for yourself, I’d stick with ext4. I actually didn’t notice thaaaat much of performance boost, when using fast HDDs, SSDs & Nvme between any of these formats!
Stick with ext3/ext4
That’s why you should set a (12h-24h tops) lease time on your DHCP…
32·5 months agoI don’t know about fedora, but when you do that on Debian, using apt, apt-get or aptitude, is super easy to fix it…gotta learn your distro’s tools
PS: just a tip, if you have no no-breaks, never use xfs/reiser as a filesystem
Don’t switch distros when you face a problem; if you’re rocking Mint for some time, awesome! You are missing nothing, if you don’t jump from one distro to another. I’m rocking Debian since 2003! 🫶😀🍺

Open a X terminal, and type: nvidia-settings
Go to the screens menu, disable the monitor, accept, enable it again and accept…
Happened on mines, a 200Hz one and it worked!
Don’t spread lies; Wayland is not the default on Debian; nor on Stable, Testing, Sid or experimental

Basically the same about the last 20+ years or so… I use Linux since 1998 (Slackware); migrated to Debian around 2001-2002; still using it in 2023. The 2 only Linux distro I can stand are opensuse & arch. For me, fuck red hat/fedora/Ubuntu… Same bugged shit as Windows! Btw, fuck Flatpak & Wayland too!
Tried to use a distro that was not Debian!
I’d used 2 HDs, 1TB each, Western Digital Black ones, in raid0 back in time; it really helps when it comes to loading times. But, if you can afford, try raid0 with SSDs nowadays; the performance will be way better!
Just try to have a small /boot partition outside of the raid block!
Do you know you can add testing, sid, experimental repositories, right? Sid & experimental have super new kernels/versions…
Why flatpak when I have apt/.deb? I never needed, at all, any flatpaks
You know you can just write: stable or testing on your /etc/apt/sources.list repository config, instead of the distro codename, don’t you?
