I’m sure it still happens a bunch, I got a random orbital sander second hand for quite cheap. No one sniped me, but it’s not like its a rare collectible.

Nah, eBay is mostly warehouse vendors now. I find it a little odd if I find an old school second hand item with bids. Also, at least in my country, most of the warehouse vendors offer free shipping. Aliexpress is generally cheaper per item tho
Kinda depends. Cop on duty? Probably not. Politician or business owner? Unless they can directly affect you, annoying banter. If they can directly affect you, based on vibes.
Um, we make fun of our authority figures but also believe the worst of them whatever they say about our national enemies (regarding Australia, national enemies include China, immigrants, the poor etc). There is more standard capitalist deference as well, you’re not going to slag someone who can fire you (to their face). And people are constantly ladder climbing as well, so there’s this sort of jockeying to have good banter while not creating enemies more powerful than you. I hate it. Its hard to navigate and people hide some real barbs behind “its a joke”.
idk how to change culture >.>
Actually, you’re right. There is literally nothing the US could do. Ignore these other people.
Sometimes. I have a hard time when to prioritise my own needs against other people’s, so I wind up vacillating between very meek and belligerent kinda randomly. Especially when it comes to social needs (e.g. if it feels like someone else is dominating a conversation with their topic of interest, and I have something I wanted to say about something 3 minutes ago but the person hasn’t stopped talking, idk what do).
I’ve taken a habit of quickly saying I don’t remember names well in some spaces. It comes up a lot in volunteering and activist spaces, where you might meet a dozen people at the same time and then not again for another month. Everyone has a quick laugh and forgives each other for forgetting their names.
(I feel weird if people refer to me by name, which probably says something about my relationship with myself)
Nothing suggesting the primacy of metaphysical stuff, but in the same way its fine to talk about the soul of a nation, it’s fine to talk about my soul. I don’t think its magic, I just think there’s a connection with the rest of the universe and other conscious people that is healthy to cultivate, and the effects I have on those relationships will continue after I die (likewise, other people’s relationships have affected my life even after they’ve died). I don’t think there’s any reward of doing so outside of the health of those relationships. I do think certain behaviours and beliefs are poisonous to this “soul”, but we can also talk about mental health and how we should be emphasising community etc.
But it’s all just physical stuff in the end, and if a meteor hit Earth tomorrow and scattered our material there isn’t anything left over like a bunch of angry ghosts floating around. Not even anyone to mourn what could have been.
Yeah, I find that I get squished between increases in responsibility without corresponding increase in power to achieve those responsibilities. :/ at work, anyway.
I guess I could learn lots of things by dividing learning tasks up
I thought about this and sometimes I really appreciate having someone to offload executive function to (like a personal trainer). Maybe we could take turns.
It would have to be a lot to change the local society, since one of me struggles in this job market and more of me will increase costs without increasing income (unless they all get a welfare cheque). More of my projects would finish (money notwithstanding), and I guess we could do heists. I’m not too fussed about who is the alpha, I think I could die tomorrow and have lived a kinda sad life and be OK with it.
I will say, if you put Reagan, Bush Senior, and Clinton into a blender and spat the result into a pre-Obama movie that features a POTUS, Biden would be pretty close. Jack.
(Death to America)
Which one was beehaw?
Also PIMDAS (we had this conversation in my class this semester as we had a very wide range of ages and regions present in the class) (I is for indices) (I don’t remember what the Colombian students said, for some reason we had a group of 3 Colombians in our class of 12 nowhere near Colombia)
That said, the question is ambiguously written. Maybe the popularity of this will result in calculators being more consistent with how they interpret implicit multiplication signs.
(my preference is to show two lines, one with the numerator and one with the divisor)
My dad had tapes, but I never got to see data go from a tape to ram. They had 8 GB of space, I remember
Reminds be of the conversations about transferring hard drives using the public transport system in my city. Good bandwidth, terrible latency. Then everyone got faster internet and stopped pirating
I hate my smell but also overheat very easily, so uh… I just kinda have to live with it. I apologise a lot.
Definitely when I open my phones camera app and the face side camera displays
I feel like I had this experience repeatedly in RTSes. I don’t think I quite had the same dive as my friend did, but still
I love it when people link to such posts as if they’re a solution as well
