It’s been a while, but here is another “Let’s discuss” post! I hope everybody is doing fine and these posts are still appreciated :).
I haven’t played this myself, but I know so many people who are extremely passionate about it that it felt like a good candidate! Looking forward to all of your musings!
My favorite is Metal Gear Solid (PS1 version). This game is just groundbreaking in so many ways, and the story is just so earnest and campy. There are some incredibly emotional moments and the final battle on top of the Metal Gear is absolutely insane.
I played it for about 400 hours on deck. I never play games for longer than 60h :D
I was hoping to get some conversation going and it seems to have worked out well! I would love to help out / keep posting these kinds of things regularly. People could dm possible candidates for the next post or put them at the end of their comments. I’m also interested to do this for games that I know are popular but that I don’t play, always fun to hear people being passionate about stuff :).
You can totally do act 4, I believe in you! Just make sure to remove weak cards (strikes) whenever you can. And try to get enough card draw (an upgraded Pommel Strike does damage and draws 2 cards for example).
Hey, games are supposed to be fun. So if you’re able to modify it in a way that makes it more enjoyable to you than that is 100% valid!
I’ll check out downfall!
Haha the same, thanks to my deck it became over half of my total steam game time :D
Ok I’ll try it out soon! Thanks for the recommendation.
I found it one of the only ones that did click for me, because all effects are explained on the screen itself (or behind a hover). So I was glad I didn’t need to remember every mechanic to get started with the game.
But I totally understand you, I’ve also bounced of certain well regarded games.
Ironclad is my first and still my favorite class, strength scaling is just so satisfying when even your strikes start to do insane damage. I also love entrench to get very high block and then body slam to turn that into damage :).
Completed all characters on A20 with heart kills.
Could you elaborate? I love me some good puzzle games. Some recommendations:
English Country Tune Stephen’s Sausage Roll Recursed Toki Tori The Witness
I honestly didn’t know that it did bad on release, that certainly merits the name underrated!
Is it underrated? I remember playing the game because of all the positive things I kept hearing about it. I loved it too, it has some really amazing scenes that stuck with me to this day. I just thought that this was the common opinion.
I loved his first 2 books, so looking forward to this one!
Haha as a Belgian this comment is hilarious. Like we’re all scrambling for ways to kill each other here without our poor guns.
The headline feels a bit alarmist to me. The article itself is a bit better and more nuanced, but still I feel they are putting way to much drama around this device while almost all these issues already exist as small slabs of electronics that we wear all the time. Combined with smartwatches, smartphones do almost all the spying that is described here and add some GPS tracking wherever you go.
This is not to say that this is not a big issue, merely that this issue is not related to this new device. And also I believe Apple is in fact the only big tech provider that actually tries to be somewhat privacy conscious (Google and Microsoft don’t give damn).
That android mother face is quite a visual!
Last Sentinel had a really cool visual style (the half faced android mother thing got my attention).
Kojima’s scary shenanigans looked interesting too :)
Holy shit I didn’t know that was one of the anouncements! Pony Island was so good, perfect length and amazingly immersive story wise. Inscription I really liked too but somehow I fell off after a few hours, still gathering dust on my PS5.
Noted ;)
