  • Fo sho. Temporary things can and should be low cost/quick. Getting a hammer drill and tap-cons that aren’t required for the end product may just serve to degrade the existing structure in the long run.

Also- we just had our steep ass roof reshingled and were getting water in the attic along the chimney after installation. The 30 year warranty got us two dudes back on the roof with three tubes of caulk… 30 year caulk?

We called a manager back over to inspect the work. He gave us a quote on siding, because he believed that was the issue. There is no siding between the roof and chimney… Can’t quite afford the lawyer without a guarantee we would win and get our money back.

I try not to think about it. We’ll live in this house until we die because dishing it off to some other unsuspecting fool would haunt me afterwards. That - and the black mold will probably speed things up a bit.

Hard to say what is what these days.

Enough darkness. Hope y’all enjoy some quality time with loved ones (or whatever works for you) this weekend!

  • I get that folks are engaged for various reasons, but Wikipedia isn’t at it’s best when it comes to current events. I feel like that battle will slow as time passes.

Still - a big thank you to those who strive to combat misinformation.

*And you make a great point. Make the edits to Trump’s page after the dust settles and there is no argument about the facts.

  • Honest question: I know the birds aren’t grounded, but is there any kind of effect such as (feels stupid, but I’ll type it) a vibration? I would believe there are EM fluctuations within a close range, but ones that may effect a bird less than an insect?

Writing it out helped me, I’ll leave it in case others are in a similar place. I have no qualms with learning why my first guess isn’t correct. My day to day is filled with too many folk that know their little corner of life. They tend to scoff at people (me, usually) who came to the field later in life without formal training.

Creativity and original thought in new situations should never be looked down upon. We all have room for improvement.
