It’s really quite shocking how the GOP agenda can be predicted by asking yourself, “What’s the worst thing someone would in a given situation?”. What’s even more shocking is that they have engineered the political framework to disproportionately grant them enough power to sometimes pass these regressive policies. A “culture of safety” must include decreased emphasis on cars and an increased emphasis on public transportation and cycling and pedestrian traffic. This will only occur with infrastructure funding. It’s not clear from the article what cultivating a “culture of safety” would look like…
