Right now under the capitalist systems there are countless jobs that are detrimental to the world we live in, or don’t actually produce anything of tangible value.

We would be a lot better off if a lot of people just didn’t do their “jobs”.

We don’t need a hundred types of sugar water, Or McDonald’s plastic toys. Landlords, bankers, stock brokers, financial planners, most lawyers are all useless.

Overpopulation is also a Malthusian myth. It isn’t that we have too many people. Under capitalism resources are not distributed well. It doesn’t make sense that most of us are working in a system that expects infinite growth with the finite resources our world is limited to. All in order to make a handful of people increasingly wealthy while the rest of us increasingly can’t afford to live a basic, simple life.

We can and must work toward building a new system (spoiler: it’s called Anarchism) while dismantling the old, inefficient, destructive system we are currently forced to try to survive in.

Historically the role of the police was to catch escaped slaves, and to violently break strikes when unionised workers were fighting for their rights.

Their foundation was white supremacist violence and violence against the working class in order to keep wage slaves creating profit for the ruling class.

And that function continues today. The role of the police is literally to use violence to protect the private property of the ruling class and serve their interests.

Also to jump in this thread when OP is talking about queer rights, we have several literal active genocides happening around the world - and the first thing you think of is “what about cops?” is utterly disgusting.

They can literally just get another job. Being a cop is not like your race, gender identity, etc. which you cannot change.

I’m in shock that someone could make it onto this part of the Internet, yet still be this brainwashed. Capitalist Realism is a hell of a drug.

Electric cars / Tesla aren’t doing anything to save the environment. Their only purpose is to keep the car industry going a bit longer.

How is the energy produced that goes into the vehicles? What about the workers in the “we’ll coup who we like” countries which dig up the resources to build the batteries? What about all the resources to build the things? What happens to the cars after the battery is done?

We should instead be thinking about building a better world where we don’t need to rely on cars to go to meaningless and harmful jobs. Cities should be more hostile to cars in general, and build environments which are more pedestrian / bike / remote worker friendly.

What are the advantages of being on a smaller instance?
