2 minute old post with no replies, truly unheard of on Lemmy.
Apple recreating Google Inbox would be an ultimate power move.
What’s wrong with that? You either buy a product or are a product.
Wipr because it has no subscription bs and has proper block lists for my country.
Isn’t that Amazon production?
DSA and DMA limit the way big players can abuse their dominant positions. They let smaller companies get a foothold in fortresses of tech giants. They enforce interoperability. Consumers benefit from those in plenty of ways.
It’s lobbying but they’re right. It’s not just their problem but consumers problem too. I hope EU handles this so that intent of the law prevails.
It was definitely an issue but I think it got better over time. Or maybe I got used to it but I’m fairly certain that at least most annoying quirks were fixed.
What really got me on board with Voyager is how it copied UI pixel perfect. Most apps can’t get things like font size and spacing right and it annoys me more than it probably should.
I’m a simple guy, someone gave me Apollo for Lemmy so I can carry on with my years of muscle memory. And since I’m ex-redditor I need my Mastodon conversations threaded so it’s Phanpy or Ice Cubes for me.
Arguably, two of the best Fediverse clients - Voyager (Lemmy) and Phanpy (Mastodon) are PWAs. While you can get Voyager from the App Store, Phanpy remains in pure PWA form only so this pretty much sucks.
IIRC it depends heavily on which phase of sleep you’re in when you wake up. If you interrupt actual dream / REM phase you’re more likely to remember it.
Its not going to be hardware level lock but linked to Apple ID region. For some it will definitely be worth jumping through some hoops but I think 99% will bail at having to arrange payment method that confirms their EU residency.
They’re suggesting to piggy-back off acquaintances Macs since a single one is fine for 10-20 accounts per their reporting. At that point I wonder if you could spin minimal Hackintosh install in a VM to keep it going.
Beeper doesn’t route every message through the bridge, just authenticates there periodically. They’re also open sourcing that bridge now.
With FB and every other instance. Are you vetting who has controlling stake in every instance you federate with?

What an infuriating UI design, red for federated and green for blocked?
Either way, thanks for a useful link since my instance admin blocked Threads for whatever reason and I needed to find a new one. Cheers!
I don’t believe the earphone part is different. When USB-C APP2 premiered they advertised a lot of new features (adaptative mode, speech triggered transparency etc) but all of them were immediately available on old ones too via firmware update.
I tried to use AutoSleep and it’s just too janky and annoying to use though. Being able to trigger alarm early based on sleep cycle stage was a game changer though.
