Absolutely based. I’m working on it to be like you, man.
I tried editing my config.yml
as the guide suggests but the problem persists. The problem seems to be that I’m using MariaDB instead of MySQL (pdo_mysql
is compatible with MariaDB). Is there anything more I can do or should I try installing MySQL?
EDIT: Purging MariaDB (Debian repo ships this instead of MySQL) and reinstalling it with sudo apt install default-mysql-server
fixed the problem. Thank you.
Do you have any info on Viber being a bad service privacy-wise? It’s a lesser-known messenger that prides itself on its privacy policy but I can’t find any info on it being the case or not.

I just simply sent a message to everyone I kept in touch on Telegram to switch to Matrix/Element and guided them through the registration to a local homeserver thanks to one of my friends’ blog posts.
The easiest way to convince your friends to switch is to just make the switch and help them sign up and use the service.
The consequences of being terminally online.
It’s completely open and it’s just another fee you can pay. Switch to KeePass if you want restriction-free password management.
This site covers the social cooling effect of these services and how the data you give out may be used against you by banks, insurance companies etc. It’s worth reading through (4 minutes). https://www.socialcooling.com/
Which TED talk are you talking about? Can you post a link?
Your comment made me crave for a cuppa. I’ll make something green.
Oops, sorry. Did the Middle-European way of doing quotes with „”
. They are special characters not in the English layout AFAIK. Fixing it.
I recommend checking out mLauncher which is a fork of Olauncher with additional features like changing font size or removed internet permission.
I use mLauncher, a fork of OLauncher. I like how simple and clean my screen is.
Renoise is an excellent tracker-based DAW with Linux support (you still have to find Linux-compatible VSTs though). It changed the way I write music.
EDIT: I know there are FOSS trackers like MilkyTracker. If you want an alternative, I can recommend it, even though it doesn’t offer the same amount of features as Renoise (e.g. VST or effect support).
I use ListenBrainz for a libre alternative.
Yes, you can set a timer when you want Locus to share the location (every Monday and Tuesday from 8-20 for example, but you can set it to 24/7 if you input the times right).
Did you check out Locus? It’s an end-to-end encrypted location sharing utility designed for decentralized servers running Nostr. It’s free and open source software that secures that your location will most likely never be shared with entities out of your control.
Are there any downsides to opening up the server-side code too? Would it also compromise other banks’ security, since these banks need to interoperate?
