Make the children internet token based for kids, use a yubikey or something (no password to learn), and leave the regular internet as is. Make ISPs provide families with kids access to both, either via subnet or dedicated hardware.

From there just have policy to not give the unrestricted network access to kids. Aka parenting. Public institutions like libraries can have most open terminals on the “safenet” and limited public access to the unfiltered net.

I like Kevin Costner, I like westerns, I like history. I pretty much am the target audience. But when I was it was going to be at least 12 hours of content spread over the next 2-3 years, and I still had no hook as to why I should watch this over The Last of the Mohicans or Tombstone or any number of narratives in similar settings. It all feels incredibly low energy.

Giant ceremonial bonfires /= fireworks, for one. Tons of random shit can go into bonfires beyond just wood, the wood is of incredibly differing quality and chemical treatments, and bonfires by their nature a low to the ground and intended to last for at minimum an hour or they’re not worth making.

But I think the newer distros in the past few years that are basically good to go after install, and feature application stores linked to reputable repos, etc, are the way forward. That is not how the animation industry works, at all. Most creative art positions require demo reels and portfolios. But sure would be nice if animators were that valued a recruiter would hunt usenet for their old pirate samples.

Also worth nothing, especially in animation, your cuts in an episode are often going to be various 10 second shots spread between multiple episodes across a season. That’s why demo reels make sense.

Like, Gender Dysphoria is a nuanced topic and can be felt in cis people, but there is a strong, STRONG anti-Trans effort to point at that and say “ah hah! See!” as if it somehow invalidates trans experiences.
