Why are online casinos bad? I don’t understand this pervasive need some people have to force their way of life on others and take away their agency over their own lives. It comes off to me as some kind of superiority complex. “They’re too stupid to make their own decisions, I know better what’s best for them, I must protect them from themselves”.
Pedos are just an excuse, it’s about everyone else.
Great post, I was looking for a comparison of nostr and AP because it seemed like basically the same thing to me and your post explained it perfectly. After reading it, I have to agree that nostr is a better solution for the fediverse.
Most of the article talks about the CEO and the company, the only criticisms of the actual product (the browser) is that it’s bloated, which is very subjective because one mans bloat is another mans feature and the affiliate link injection scandal from 4 years ago, which definitely shouldn’t have been done but at least it wasn’t malicious and now is gone.
To be honest I think people on here dislike brave primarily due to ideological reasons, completely ignoring the fact that 99.9% of people aren’t hackermans™ and don’t want to install gnu icecat or librewolf with 7 different extensions. For those people it’s either chrome/edge or brave, the latter, even if not perfect is a way better option both for them and the internet.
What’s wrong with brave?
Edit: Now that I think about it, I use session for taking notes and “syncing” them with my PC. I guess any messaging app with a desktop client would work.
This is a joke, right?
Thanks. I tried to look it up and all I found was something about a hole in a ship.
WTF is scuppering?
Then you could subscribe to both communities. Think of it as having a separate category for gay and straight porn, some people are into both, some into one or the other, some into neither and because it’s in its own category everyone can pick exactly what they want to see.
Then c/politicalmemes would be a perfect place for conservatives and progressives to call each other dumb and let everyone else on c/memes enjoy their funny cats.
I’m not arguing for or against of what the post says, I’m only saying that the designated place for funny cat pictures is probably not the right place for a meaningful discussion, sharing opinions, education or anything else but funny cat pictures.
When i browse c/memes I want to see easily digestible posts that will make me exhale through my nose, not deep, thought provoking walls of text.
Can we make c/politicalmemes and keep this sort of content there? It’s clearly a point of division in the community, we should be more accommodating for apolitical folks.

Version 0.34 of unstoppable wallet by horizontal systems. It will add chain switching to walletConnect for dapps that support it.
Distro doesn’t really mater that much, desktop environment (de) is a more important choice for a new user.
Comming from windows you might like cinnamon, mate, kde plasma or gnome with ArcPanel and Dash to Dock extensions. There’s also lxqt and xfce for low spec systems.
You can install any de on any distro but if you are new to linux you might want to stick with the default one.
If you want cinnamon or mate go with linux Mint.
For gnome ZorinOS looks decent. I think it comes with wine already set up to make running windows programs easier. If you have an nvidia gpu Pop!_OS comes with nvidia drivers but you’ll probably want some gnome extensions like ArcMenu and Dash to Panel.
Before installing any distro you should try them out in a live usb mode or a virtual machine.
Personally I started with Cinnamon Mint but it had issues with my multi monitor set up and poor gaming performance so now I’m on gnome Pop!_OS with ArcMenu and Dash to Panel on desktop and lxqt lubuntu on laptop.
I switched from windows about a year ago and now I’m absolutely certain I’m never comming back. The first 2 weeks or so are the most difficult because you feel like you have to learn a brand new skill every time you do something basic that would take you 30 seconds in windows but once you have everything set up and are more familiar with how things are done on linux it will feel completely natural.
Good luck on your linux journey, I hope you see it through. :)
