“We absolutely must ship what we said we would” Yeah right, everything else they have promised never led to anything, but this, this we have to push through :p

Yeah, it’s kind of a pascal/modula/ada thing with a more python like syntax. It does have a really nice typesystem that I enjoy a lot :)
It’s a fun little project to do :)
I nuked all my posts and comments as well.
Well, that kind of sounds like the normal rust propaganda, don’t get me wrong, I do think the language is decent, it’s just tiring to see so many people just buying into and parroting some weird claims like “it’s rust, so it’s secure”
Yeah, that’s very much the case for me as well :/
Also they don’t have the language skills, I’d be serously impressed if they managed to scrunge up employees with the language and culture skills for many subs.
yeah, and multilingual on top of that, there are content in so many languages on reddit.
You mean so that we all can avoid it :)
Yeah that’s what I thought, that they are scraping like NewPipe is, that usually breaks a couple of times a year when google is messing around with the page, but the developers are usually really quick and fixes it in a day or two so that it works again.
I am really enjoying apico at the moment, a really cute wholesome game about breeding bees and butterflies, helping to save the species, it’s based on the old forestry mod for minecraft which used to be one of my favourites as well.
While I agree with you it will be sad to see some of the small communities I’m a part of die, maybe some of them will rescurrect, but I have my doubts on some of them, very niche stuff where it’s hard to gather together people.
Yeah, I for sure will spend more time here, it’s just that some niche places I am probably will never move off of reddit, and it’s either that or nothing, once old goes away though, I don’t think I will be able to use the site any more.
Yeah, when old.reddit goes my reddit time is gone, without old and RES it’s unusable, and I just will have to deal with not really being able to spend time on subreddits that I really enjoy, it’s just really sad since there aren’t really good communities for it anywhere else, at least yet. I hope there will be some time.
I’ve used sync for close to a decade, it is reddit on mobile for me, and now it will disappear, most likely I just won’t log into reddit off my pc anymore.
Exactly :) That’s what I mean as well, sure there are great things written in rust, but they are great because they are great, not because they are written in rust :)
