Do you need to read and write as well or only speak? It took me a long time to realize i wasn’t learning anything with duolingo. I switched to pimsleur, and i have made much better progress with my Hindi.

Pimsleur advertises it can give you a solid foundation of a language in 30 days. I am too lazy to complete it in 30 days, but i can see where it is going

I did a debian install this weekend, and it seemed pretty mild. It asked if I wanted separate partitions for /tmp and /home and if I wanted to encrypt my lvm. Then I chose my desktop environment from a list and that was it. It even installed grub for me.

Pretty sure myself with doctor Manhattan powers would be a death fest. Like i would want to make war illegal, but how would i do that? just start killing leaders who wage war. i’d also be tempted to try to ‘fix’ society starting with US congress and senate. lobbying would be made illegal and i’d probably have to kill some people for them to get the message. the problem is that i am just some guy who doesn’t know the intricacies of the verycomplicated matter of US federal law. so i probably kill way too many people and probably a lot a good people. it is for the best i dont have this power.

I see a lot of people here struggling to get contacts to drop sms and imessage. i have had success in getting a lot of friends on signal because cross platform group mms is dogshit.

i can’t get any whatsapp people to budge though
