Oh cool, this looks like something I’d really like. I’ve been using a paid Android app called Simply Auto which is excellent, but self hosting is more fun.

I’m wondering who taught you that. There’s an overwhelming amount of evidence, proof, and reason for evolution. It makes absolute sense, is simple, and easy to comprehend if you’re willing to open your mind and disregard what religion has tried to teach you.
There are lots of good explanations out there, so I won’t bother trying – but basically the most difficult thing to understand about evolution is the incredible amount of time it took to get us to where we are today. Once you see that drawn out visually, it makes a lot more sense.
It’s not something you can believe or not believe, because it’s fact. Instead, you either accept it or don’t accept it. Most people accept the existence of gravity because it’s so easily demonstrated. Once you give evolution a minute of your time, it’s equally easy to accept.
I used to mount network attached storage in /mnt until I had problems accessing it from a Snap. In searching for a solution it was pointed out that snaps are correct in being sandboxed from these types of folders, and users like myself are making things difficult for ourselves by using those system folders.
They said the best practice would be to mount them in a folder in your home directory. I’ve switched to doing that and it works great.
Cool, nice.
A reverse proxy needs you to forward ports 80 and 443, unfortunately.
I really hate to quote Roberts, but circumventing congress wouldn’t be “within his “conclusive and preclusive” constitutional authority”, would it?
No, they’re saying if it was an official duty, he’s immune. If he did something unofficial (as decided by lower courts), he’s not immune. I don’t know many details off the top of my head, but for example tweeting to the Proud Boys, could be considered unofficial. Or whatever. I’m not a law person.
He can still be prosecuted etc., but it’s going to take time for lower courts to figure out how to handle it.
Call me silly, but isn’t this sort of good? I think they’re trying to say “you’re immune if you do stuff that presidents do, like be in charge of war, torture, etc, but if you’re a normal criminal, you’re still a criminal”.
I’m the same, tea when I’m sick. Sometimes I won’t realize I’m getting sick until I turn on the kettle. That’s when I know.
I don’t hate Reddit. I was just saying that reddit has so many more users that enforcing rules that restrict content is more necessary.
Lemmy doesn’t have enough content to warrant the enforcement of rules that were taken from reddit.
I just checked BestBuy, which is obviously not the best source of information, but all of the floor speakers they have come with grills. They show them without the grills, but there’s always a picture at the end to show that they come with them.
Edit: just browsed crutchfield.com and grills galore!
They probably assumed you lived a little further away since you mentioned living outside of town in sentance 1 of qualifier 3. An understandable mistake.
I guess it takes a little bit of “incel loser” attitude to balance out the simps.
Some people love to be victims.
I love reading lists of 5 poorly written qualifiers before carefully considering a response to a dumb internet post about the cost of pizza delivery.
I helped my father remove old sash, pulleys, weights etc from a house in PA. Old windows are really cool.
I know all about his Mayo Clinic saga and his rare condition. It’s important for someone like him to be clear about what’s going on, or accept the fact that people are going to suggest things that he can’t do. If he’s not absolutely clear about it, people aren’t going to automatically assume “oh yeah, he must have that rare condition where smelling food makes him feel sick because he said he can’t cook and has sensitive smell. It’s obvious to me after reading that that there’s no way he can go pick up a pizza and not pay $8.60 for delivery.”
Most people in this thread, myself included, already know about his thing, but if someone doesn’t know about it ahead of time, I’m just trying to make the point that hey, this needs to be spelled out. If it’s not spelled out, then don’t get defensive when someone responds with an otherwise reasonable comment.
I guess so. Honestly, though, if you have a rare condition and don’t want people suggesting things that you can’t do, it helps to be clear in your communication.
If you go to a restaurant and tell the server “I can’t cook and I’m smell sensitive”, they’re going to say “Ok, you’ve come to the right place”. Instead, tell them “Unfortunately, if I catch a whiff of food I’ll feel sick.” Then the restaurant can see if there’s anything they can do for you.
I just think most people, if they weren’t already aware of his Mayo Clinic saga and his rare condition, wouldn’t guess “oh this guy must have that thing where smelling food makes him feel sick” based on what he wrote. Something that rare and, let’s be honest, strange, needs to be stated clearly if he really wants people to know about it.
I mentioned the fact that he paid $8+ for someone to deliver food, and his response rubbed me as overly defensive – “Some people just don’t bother reading the original list of 5 items, comprehending each one before commenting on my precious post.”
I should make a standalone post about it.
You need to rewrite that to make it clearer, or maybe you enjoy belittling people for not knowing what you mean.
I recently switched to Dockge and it suites my needs. I like some aspects of Dockge better, but I like the network and image management features of portainer.
